(If you don't know what the word means, go look it up. It's an excellent word for anyone's vocabulary.)
I walked into work (Hollywood Video) today early so I could catch my boss before she left. I informed her that I would be quitting and tendered my two weeks notice. Then, I walked into the Staples next door and ran into an old friend who used to work at the same store with me. I told her I finally quit that job and she says:
"Hmm. Do you need a new job?"
Turns out, she's the hiring manager at a huge movie theatre in the metro area and they are hiring managers at the moment. She told me to come fill out an application, she's the one that approves applications (with her general manager's OK), and the one that does the interviews. She told me I've got the job if I want it.
It pays 7.75 more than I'm getting now. For practically the same shift and almost no more responsibilities than I've done as a shift leader at HV.
