This past Wednesday night, my friend had a terrible bout of insomnia. Early Thursday morning, in his sleep-deprived state, he saw his crush and asked her out for coffee on Friday.
Friday comes around and he completely blanks on the coffee date.
She calls him fifteen minutes after they were supposed to meet, asking where he was. He remembers asking her out, starts apologizing profusely, tells her he'll be there ASAP, but she responds with, "Look, it's fine, don't worry. I'm suddenly not feeling too well, so I think I'm just going to go home." However, she's laughing through most of the conversation.
Now he's convinced he just blew his chance with this girl.
Do you think he did, TQC?
He told me he's probably going to see her later today, and when he does, he's planning to apologize to her for standing her up, and if he gets a generally positive response from her, he's going to say, "I want to make it up to you. Let me take you out to coffee tomorrow."
Is that a good way to handle the situation?
Help my best friend get the girl, TQC!
