Dr. TQC,

I woke up yesterday with a pain in the bottom of my foot that shoots up to the side of my ankle. I didn't wear uncomfortable shoes the day before, in fact I was wearing sneakers and it's different from any pain I've experienced while wearing shoes that don't fit or are too high.

I figured it would go away on it's own and I tried elevating it and taking Motrin and just not walking on it much but today I woke up and the pain is still there. It's making me walk funny because I get a shooting pain whenever I put any weight on that foot. What could this be? And how long should I wait to see if it goes away on it's own before I see a doctor or something?
