You're a commander of a big ass warship. You're cruising outside your home planet along with a bunch of civilian ships. Suddenly, said home planet gets attacked by something...aliens, robots, whatever. You order your ship and all the civilian ships around you to travel at the speed of light to the next nearest galaxy. You continue to jump from galaxy to galaxy, your enemy behind you every step of the way. You finally manage to shake them. So it's you and your big ass warship, and about sixty or so civilian ships with you. As far as you know, you are the sole survivors of the human race, and your ship is the only one that has weapons strong enough to destroy any enemies that will probably find you.

Would you rather:

A) Keep the fleet together and defend it from potential enemies, meaning that if a big enough enemy army found you, you would probably get completely destroyed and therefore the human race would go extinct,
or
B) Send every ship in a different direction, with orders to jump until they run out of fuel or find a habitable planet? If any of these ships encounter the enemy they will have no protection from you and your big ass warship because...you obviously would have traveled in another direction. However, this increases the likelihood of finding a habitable planet. On the other hand, each civilian ship holds only about a thousand people, at the most. Once you jump into another galaxy, there is no way of contacting any of the other ships.

Edit: What's your reasoning behind your choice?

And YES, before you say anything, I am referencing Battlestar Galactica. My friend keeps bitching that Commander Adama is an idiot and should totes do letter B), while I strongly disagree and think A) is the better option. Settle this geeky battle for us, TQC!

If you don't really care, is there something you enjoy that many people would consider geeky/nerdy/dorky? What is it?
