When I got my current job, the deal was I was supposed to be full time. We're not nearly busy enough for that to happen, so right now I'm getting less than 15 hours a week (~350 dollar paycheck every two weeks). We're open 5 days a week, Tu-Sat, 7:45 am to 6 PM. The office manager (who also does my job), has to be full time, so she has to have 33 hours a week, minimum. My availability now is open--anytime, any day. There is a nanny job advertised on one of my agency e-mails that is Mon-Thurs 7:30 am to 3 pm, that pays $400 a week.
Obviously, the nannying job would be extremely ideal and profitable, plus the kids are adorable, but I am just wondering...
1. How understandable would it be for me to tell my boss that I can't work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday?
2. How would you go about telling your employer about this opportunity?
