I have a feeling this question may get me in trouble, so first I will point out that I do not have a problem with Christians, nor do I have a problem with missionaries provided they are good at what they do – helping people and not forcing Christianity.

What are people's opinions of Christian charities?
Groups like Samaritan's purse who do the Operation Christmas child, I think it's a good idea but I'm not sure how comfortable I am with the idea of such an organisation carrying out this project. Also groups like Christian aid baffle me, are they not in some way cutting off their nose to spite their face by being so prominently Christian, I don't really see the need to define yourself as a Christian charity, for many this type of organisation is insulting – for example when they come into a workplace or college to tell you (as well as everyone else in your multi-cultural workplace/college) that in giving to their charity you are sending 'Christ's love' etc.
On a related note, I am sure here in the UK Christian charities are the only religious charities to get recognised charity status, I heard that they were going to change things so that other religious charities could be included so is this going to happen, how does it work in other countries?
