What happens when two substances collide

I am going to make stir-fry and want to try something new. I have a can of minced clams to add but have never cooked with them before. Should I add them in during the cooking, or only at the very end, just to warm them up?

Er, I might add that I have never eaten clams before, so what should I expect them to taste like?

I'm trying to remember the name of a book I read a while back; it was a futuristic deal, with a robot who wanted to die but couldn't. Then a human guy found a girl who was living at a zoo but she told him all the animals were robots and the two realized that everyone was stupid because of the drugs they were given and that robots ran everything so they quit the drugs.... or something. And then the guy escaped somehow and ended up in a mall which was inhabited by a bunch of religious wierdos. What is this book?

Have you ever been squaredancing? If yes, did you lovelovelove it?
