Are you uncomfortable talking about sex/sexuality? [Nov. 17th, 2018|03:13 pm]
The Question Club

For me, all the topics are on the table.
I will talk about anything with anyone, including my parents, partners, priests, or presidents.

I am particularly interested in sex and sexuality (social history of, biomechanics of, neuropharmacology of, cultural interpretations of gender/sex, cultural sex practices both private and public, sexual trauma and treatment, sexual "disorders", formal doctrines/dogmas on sex, etc) and although I've found good talking partners on the subject, most people.... VERY SERIOUSLY would just rather not talk about any of it, Period. Most people seem to rely on either on the distance that objectification, euphemisms/slang, or second/third-person accounts of thought/action offer as a avenues of approach on this *ahem* sticky subject.

What about you?

Do you hate talking about sex in matter-of-fact ways?
Do you love talking about sex in anyway/anyhow?
Or do you love/hate taking about sex depending on the situation/person/theme?
