Hey all,

I have a 12 1/2 year old son who is in the midst of puberty. With all the hormonal changes going on, he's become prone to skin breakouts on his face, mostly around his upper lip and hairline. And oddly enough, there's a bunch of blackheads IN his ears. Some of the pimples become rather engorged and unsightly. I'd like to help him with this.

Of note, my son is autistic. He is rather "high-functioning" (for lack of a better term) and is typically ok with self-care/personal grooming. He does struggle with finer details in this area. (Like he'll wash his hair with shampoo, but he'll not be attentive enough to get all of it out on the rinse.) So he needs some help in order to keep himself healthy and clean. We've been working on it for a while.

Is there any gentle exfoliating process that we his parents can introduce to him? Is there a tried and true face wash that you have positive experience with?
Right now he simply makes a pass over his face with some ivory bar soap. I'm not sure if I need something stronger?

Any advice you can offer would be most helpful. Thanks!

This is a question for those women of tqc that may have dealt with issues relating to Aunt Flo, under a cut because this subject seems to upset some people.

DK/DC - How do you get motivated when you know you're being laaazy?
angel

you found it WHERE?!?!

What's the most unusual place you've ever found a missing object?

I thought it was bad that after a long search I found my missing eyeglasses high up on a bookshelf, but recently my SO located missing keys in the bottom of a six-pack in the refrigerator.
