The Sunday paper tells me that the effort to gain higher crop yields and lower pesticide use on same is a failure. Genetically engineering food didn't bring about either outcome.
So now that we've genetically altered our grains and have been eating it for decades:
1. Do you think it's affected the general health of people?
2. What should be done about this failed attempt to feed the planet's ever growing population?
3. Can we go back to unengineered/unaltered food?
I am soooo angry and frustrated and feeling pretty helpless, so please help if you can...
My HP Pavillion Notebook with Windows 10 on it (piece of crap machine and software...don't use these things if you can possibly help it), evidently automatically changes settings to apps which causes me to be logged in as a temporary user and not have access to my files. I don't personally change the settings to anything, so I don't even know what is being changed or what to do to fix the problem. I had tech support that ended last week. They would fix it but never tell me what I needed to do to fix it myself, even though I asked. In fact, the exact same problem happened last week, and when I expressed concern about needing to know what to do if it happened when I no longer had service, he repeatedly told me "it will never happen again". Well, either he was an ignorant fool or lying to me because he knew that I couldn't get anymore help starting this week. And, of course it happened again barely a week later. It's now, sorry, we can't help you unless you pay us at least $50, even though it has been a problem that has been recurrent since I got the stupid thing and they won't tell me what's wrong or what to do to keep it from happening. I tried to call HP to speak to a manager, but of course I can't get a real person and have to pay money to even talk remotely to someone just to ask for a manager, which I probably wouldn't be allowed to reach. I hate them. I really do, right now. Is there any technically talented person out there who has an idea of what I need to do and is willing to advise me how to get to whatever needs to be set back to where it needs to be so I can freaking get to my files?! I'm not doing anything high-tech. I just wanted to get to my excel file for my budget so I can update it for November. Computers are supposted to make this easier! Grrr. Has anyone else had to go through something this frustrating, or is it just me because I didn't grow up with technological gadgets and people are taking advantage of my ignorance?
DK/DC...What is something happy that happened to you today? I really don't like feeling this angry/frustrated/unhappy. It's my day off, darn it!
