equinox & solstice?

Does anybody have equinox or solstice family traditions?

Growing up in a secular home, we only really did birthdays, halloween, and new year's. As an adult, I like the idea of explicitly celebrating the seasons, but idk what regular people do. Google gives me a lot of woo woo (chanting mantras in matching robes?). I don't mean any offense to those who celebrate like that, but it doesn't really appeal to me! :-)

So far I've just come up with basic things like putting up string lights, making seasonal decorations with the kids, having a nice family dinner or hosting a dinner party. Does anyone do anything more specific? I like hearing about weird family quirks too :D

I need an entertaining website to look at when I'm listening to music. I'm already on Tumblr, LJ and Facebook but it's not enough. I don't like Reddit so don't suggest it please. Can someone please suggest a cool website? What would be a cool website for me to look at?
