(no subject)

I really hate my name and want a new one (even if it's not an official/legal name change. I can't afford to do that right now), but I have no idea what to change it to.  My first and middle name is Amanda Lynn.  It's boring and ugly, especially paired with a common last name.  My last name starts with Mc and has 3 syllables.  I go by Laney.  However, I feel that Laney is too nicknamey to be used as a full name.  I was thinking of using Helena in the first or middle spot after my late grandmother who passed away on Memorial Day 2016.  Her middle name was Helen.

What names do you think would fit me best?  I am a very shy girl who is artistic/creative, I love children and animals, and my hobbies include baking, photography, writing, and watching crime shows, cooking competitions, and the 80's cartoon Jem.

Here's a pic of myself to give you ideas (Yeah, I know I'm ugly).  I have shoulder-length curly hair, but you can't see it here.

1.  Both first and middle(s) have to be gender specific.
2.  Either one or two middle names is fine.
3.  Nothing too common (no top 200's), trendy, or too over the top (no Rainbow, Twilight, Cookie, Ginger, Sparkle, etc...).
4.  I like names that reflect my Irish and Latvian heritage and I also love Slavic names, but those things aren't required.

Also, do you like your name?  If not, what would you change it to?

When was the last time you had to "rely on the kindness of strangers?"
How'd it go?

Is there a memorable time that it went well? Badly? Weird experience?

What lessons have you learned about strangers?
Personally, I learned that people asking for "the time" aren't always actually asking for the time.

For sale

Have you ever sold anything on a subreddit? Is it simpler than eBay? I have a couple of small things to sell and an appropriate subreddit, but it's all new to me and I don't want extra hassle either way.

DK/DC: How do you pronounce the word "forward"--"foe-wərd," "for-wərd" or "fah-wə(r)d"?
