Are there any pet peeves you've recently discovered you have?

Mine is when people say "you know" in every other sentence.

Do you grow/raise any of your own food?

How far is the closest grocery store from where you live?

If not a grocery store, what is the nearest place you could buy something to eat? (e.g. gas station)

How do I get gasoline smell off my jeans?

I've literally had these jeans for 4 days.  Yesterday I had to get gas, and as soon as I pulled the nozzle out to pump, it spun around and got me with gas.

I googled how to clean them and have done the following:  dry baking soda to soak up any excess, scrubbed dish soap and soaked for a half hour in hot water, applied a baking soda paste, let dry, scraped off the baking soda, used an OxyClean stain remover and washed in the washer.  It still smelled like gas, so I repeated the dish soap and washed again.  Still smell like gas.

Right now, I'm trying a vinegar soak.  But if that doesn't work, I'm at a loss.  The website I was reading says to wash them in an Orange-based All-Purpose cleaner as a last resort, but for the life of me I can't find any at any store.

If these were old jeans, I'd probably be giving up by now.  But these are NEW.  They are 70% Cotton, 16% Viscose, 12% Polyester, and 2% Elastane.  Dark wash.

Help me save them, please!
