Dental work

Have you ever gotten a crown? How long did the pain last after the prep and temp? Did it hurt again after you got the permanent one? Did you need a root canal as a result?

DK/DC: How often do you floss and use mouthwash? Once a day? Twice? After each meal? Never?

SOLVED - Splitting .VOB file

My family have recently had old tapes converted to DVD. The files play really well, but 6 tapes were randomly ordered onto the disc and we'd prefer to be able to split each tape into chapters.

I also have an autism assessment coming up and they've said they will view videos but I don't taking the entire DVD plus more tapes we're waiting on conversion for would create lots of time wasting and generally be unmanageable.

I've downloaded Avidemux (Windows 2.6.10) but the file gets a demuxer error.

Is there any software that will handle the files as they are?

If I need to convert them, what's a good program to do this without losing quality (they're already fairly poor because they're from tapes - I'd rather they didn't get much worse).

ANSWER: Files won't open from the DVD because Avidmux writes a separate file when it opens the video in the same location as the original file. When the .VOB file is copied to the hard drive, the files will index and open.

A vile surprise

ETA: OMG this is in the top five stupidest things I've ever done. I went out there to clear it out on your advice, and it turned out to be one of those things you get from the bank, with an area for a code that's a sort of hashed thing (looked like the pad), and the rest of the paper had stuck to the bin in such a way that it looked exactly like a pad. My fault, QC, that was incredibly stupid of me.

ETA2: I'm not sure why so many people originally thought that I was going to go and bother the police with no reason. That's why I was intending to go down in person originally. That's when I thought I had something to report to them. As it turns out, I don't.

In our neighbourhood, the recycling bins and the normal rubbish bins each get emptied once a fortnight, on alternate weeks. I went out to fetch our recently emptied recycle bin a couple of hours ago, and, as is my habit, briefly opened the lid before I dragged it back, to check that it had indeed been emptied. Well it had been emptied, but something out of the ordinary caught my eye.

So, any advice before I go ahead with my plan?
