If you went a routine check up (ob/dental/etc) and the doctor found a small lump/lesion and told you it's probably fine but to come back in a few weeks to re-check and if it doesn't go away you will need a biopsy to check for cancer, would you tell your spouse/partner/family asap or wait until you're sure it's nothing/something to save them worry?

Do you ever say that you're "getting up with" someone when referring to contacting them?

-Did you get up with Jim about the party?
-I still need to get up with Jim about the party.
-I got up with Jim about the party and he told me to kick rocks.

If you don't use the phrase yourself, do other people around you use it with any regularity? If not, do you recall ever hearing it or is it wholly unfamiliar to you?

What country/region/state are you from?

My boyfriend says I'm the only person he's ever heard to use that phrase. He never hears it in the Midwestern US and thinks it must be something I picked up while living in the southern US. I've lived in the South, the Midwest, and the western US and have no idea when or where I picked it up. It never occurred to me that it wasn't a common turn of phrase.

Edit: Should have added, I live in southeastern NC and the phrase is commonly used here. I just thought I'd heard it regularly before moving here.

Love at first sight? [May. 11th, 2015|06:16 pm]
The Question Club

So when i was 21, i met a boy. It was infact second sight when i felt like i was remeeting a lost friend.
In truth we failed at every hurdle, and where plagued with miss understandings, every time we try and know each other at all.
Im now 36 and not in love with him for a long time. however i am always curioius about who this person is, and why my self had such a reaction to him.
We recently hungout a few times, and totally stayed true to form. I have no idea what happened but once again we are not speaking. In fact i saw him  the other day in the shopping centre, and pretended I didnt.
My question is do you belive in love at first sight?
I have always wondered why the person i felt the most for, was the person i could communicate with the least, do other people experience this?
Also if i was blown away by someone at 21, will i never settle with anyone unless i meet someone who has equal pull?
Surely love at first sight doesnt happen twice?

Please excuse my creative spelling, im dylexic and on my phone.

Do you have vocal fry?

If yes, did you know you had it before viewing this video?

If no, are you going to acquire it?

Do you have an opinion about vocal fry?

learning the hard way [May. 11th, 2015|07:58 pm]
The Question Club

Our neighbors, from the looks of it, are removing the mint plant from their garden.

Too bad it has spread to the area under our driveway (it pops through the asphalt where it can) and will probably just spread back to their garden again. I think they are about to learn the hard way not to let mint get out of control.

Have you watched anyone learn something the hard way? Have you learned anything the hard way yourself?

Video games [May. 11th, 2015|11:19 pm]
The Question Club

What's your favourite video game (of all time) to play?

Are there types of video games that you're particularly good at playing?

Are there types of video games that you're not good at playing? (I'm really good at sims/RPGs, but awful at FPSs.)

Are there any games that you played on now obsolete consoles/computers that you'd love to play again? (I'd sell my soul to play Ibix the Viking again).
