Holiday Baking [Dec. 1st, 2014|04:27 pm]
The Question Club

I'm wanting to do some Christmas baking this year, to give as gifts.  I'd like to get started this week, and I'm wondering what your favorite thing to bake at Christmas is - recipes greatly appreciated.  Could you please also say if it can be frozen or not?

In which I attempt to get all deep...and shit. [Dec. 1st, 2014|06:29 pm]

How do you go about forgiving yourself for past fuck ups? Especially ones where you did wrong by someone else but are no longer in a position to apologize or make ammends to the actual person (for whatever reasons)?

Tips to stop beating yourself up about things that happened 5 + years ago?

I was a shit person to a lot of people in my teen years, I have always felt like due to those things I did I can never be a good person.

DK/DC : If you could say one thing to one person without having to worry about the repercussions what would it be?

Hey travelers! How vital and/or effective is an anti-skimming wallet, passport case or bag for international adventures? I've heard mixed things about whether or not typical credit cards are even affected unless used directly in a rigged ATM or at a register - that wireless, RFID skimming is only harmful in cases of stuff like magnetized hotel key cards and so on.

Workshop Way [Dec. 1st, 2014|09:45 pm]
The Question Club

[mood |curiouscurious]

Since my oldest is approaching school age (ok, have two years yet, but it'll go fast!) I have been thinking about schools and programs and where we might send him as we have the public school plus a crazy amount of charter options. I got to thinking about my own elementary education and Workshop Way. There was a group of teachers in my elementary school who used this program and I was in it for 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades. I have searched the internet, but haven't found much about learning which schools might use the program (I have yet to do full research on the schools in my area, we'll get there) and came upon one video on YouTube that sparked a lot of memories about how the methodology works.

I was curious if any of you have ever heard of it, worked in it, and what your thoughts are?

Also: is there a learning philosophy that you are drawn to or recommend?
