You must pick one eating utensil to use for the rest of your life. Which do you choose?

Which of these would you have picked if they'd been options on the previous question?

I would invent the Sporkni (assuming someone hasn't)
Something else
I'm good with my original choice

Rosetta-Mission [Nov. 12th, 2014|10:48 am]
The Question Club

Hello TQC!

Will you watch the landing of Philae?
Do you think we (as in, humanity) should put more effort to explore the space and other planets?
Do you think life on other planets exists?
Do you think we will find out more about it within the next, say, 50 years?

Can someone please help me?

I clicked the link to try my journal in the new style, or the old style, I can't remember which one,it was a clicky on my profile page I believe. I hated it and switched back to the other style but it still looks different. I figured out it's because I am used to my journal being in the horizon scheme. But, I can't figure out how to get that back. I made a help request and they gave me a link to display options but that didn't give me the choice to view it in horizon. Can someone help? I hate this new view and it's ruining LJ for me!

I feel so stupid for not being able to figure this out.

What was the last thing that made you feel stupid?

Do you subscribe to any email lists?

This post was inspired by an acquaintance who thinks he should get one going to promote his musical project. He doesn't believe me when I say most people are doing their promoting through Twitter and Facebook.

Just for fun... [Nov. 12th, 2014|02:15 pm]
The Question Club

Is there anything you were told as a child, that you've since learned was false, yet you still let it dictate your decisions?

When I was a little girl, whenever my dad made a sandwich or burger for me, he always said "That'll put hair on your chest!" when he added the mustard, which secretly horrified me. Once I was big enough to make my own sandwich, I never, ever, ever use mustard on anything and I don't to this day. If we go out for a burger, I don't say "No mustard." or anything like that. Often when a sandwich tastes really good, I realize whoever made it put some mustard on there. So I like the taste just fine, but whenever I'm preparing food for myself, even if the mustard is right in front of me, I think of my dad and NOPE, not using that mustard! I just can't shake the idea.

So, what weird nonsense programming did your family leave you with?

NYE Plans [Nov. 12th, 2014|05:27 pm]
The Question Club

Most years on New Year's I keep it fairly mellow: drinks at home (alone or with friends), watching The Big Lebowski, maybe playing board games. I don't know why I've picked The Big Lebowski, I just have.

This year, however, we'll be rolling over into the year that Marty McFly arrives "in the future." I'm tempted to opt for something ~a little crazier~: inviting some friends over to marathon the Back to the Future movies (ideally timed so that at midnight Marty arrives in the future in Part II but well let's not get ahead of ourselves).

But NYE is also a Wednesday this year, which is kind of a shit day for any kind of party. Plus our apartment is tiny and full of stuff so having more than three guests over doesn't work so well (though the "Jesus Christ is Bourne" Bourne movie marathon we had last Christmas was good). What would you do, TQC?

1) Regular NYE plans: stay home with the boyfriend, drink some cheap liquor, watch The Big Lebowski

2) Special 2015 NYE plans: invite people over for drinks and Back to the Future marathon, hoping that no one already has plans/is going to other, cooler parties

3) Have the Back to the Future marathon on the weekend after NYE to give people time to recover from their hangovers/etc.

4) Have the Back to the Future marathon on October 21st, 2015, the date that Marty arrives in "the future" (also a Wednesday but being 11 months away gives people the chance to schedule it into their lives).

5) Hold off on any NYE plans to see if I will get invited to any parties, seeing as this is my first NYE with friends in my new city. Perhaps even suggest the Back to the Future theme for whatever party I might end up invited to.

6) ????

Obviously not all of these items are mutually exclusive. I was thinking of doing 1 and 3. Or maybe 1 and 4. Maybe even 1, 3, AND 4....!

DK/DC: what are your New Year's plans?
