What are you wearing right now?

For people who are married or have been married

  • Do you wear your ring all of the time or some of the time?

  • Do you wear it on a chain as a necklace or on your finger?

  • Does your partner get on you for not wearing your ring or is that just a thing you only see on sitcoms?

  • Have you been married without getting a ring?

(This is my first time posting here. I hope I got it right!)

Dead Celebrity Party

I got invited to a Dead Celebrity-themed party. The rules are I have to show up dressed as somebody famous, and they have to be dead.

I'm a girl, I'm 26, I don't know a soul at this party (I'm going as my boyfriend's +1) and I can't decide who to go as. The whole idea seems a little cruel to me, so I don't know how to pull this off without being too mean. Is there an acceptable amount of time since someone's died to impersonate them at a party? I'm trying to take it as a form of flattery, as impersonating someone I admire as a way to kind of honor them, show that they've impacted my life in some way, shape, or form. All the ideas I have seem either too mean, too soon, or too obscure for anyone to get. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Boyfriend is considering going as John Candy or Jackie Gleason ha.

I've never applied for a job in the US, where I now live. I read that it's preferable to find out who the hiring manager is instead of saying 'dear hiring manager' in the cover letter. Is it ok to call the company and ask who the hiring manager is?

ETA - thanks for the responses, definitely won't be calling them up or digging for the name!

let me take a selfie

If you're going to take a selfie inside your own house/apartment/room, do you tidy up or remove clutter from the background before taking the picture?

Question inspired by friends' selfies and the disturbingly cluttered nightstand in my bedroom.

I've signed myself up for a sort of dinner party competition (Come Dine With Me style) with my roller derby league.

It's a week away and i'm scuppered. I am doing it with a partner I don't know so well. So far we have come up with an autumnal theme, with soup, maybe casserole and a cheesecake/pumpkin pie.

Any ideas for entertainment/games/great recipes/decorations etc?

One of my friends wants to start a fashion blog, but he's not sure which platform to use. He's considered tumblr but isn't sure if that would be the best option for a blog like that. I have zero idea what sites people even use for blogs anymore. What are some good blogging platforms for that kind of thing?

Or can you recommend any good fashion blogs that he could look at for layout ideas?
