shock-me-gray, bored, apathy

Hey, I was wondering if you guys know of any good thrillers, mysteries, crime, suspense or horror books that take place in Mexico? The author doesn't have to be from Mexico, just the setting. Thank you!

My hair is falling off

I know it has to be stress related, and the fact that I had my hair very very long, down-to-my-waist long. and it started falling, is not one or two threads on my comb, it's whole locks, and it's starting to worry me.
I tried cutting it a little and now is half down my back, I've tried with vitamins and shampoo and even some creams but nothing helps, so... do you have any home made remedy that would help?
any ideas? before I look like Fester Addams, please.

Mmm. Coffee.

Coffee is one of my favorite things in the world. I make my morning cuppa joe like this:

24 oz container with a bit of sugar free vanilla syrup, 1% or 2% milk over ice, 4-5 oz espresso, and then I top it off with a bit of some kind of flavored coffee creamer, such as International Delight. Mine is inspired by the way the baristas at Starbucks make the iced caramel macchiatos. Yum!

How do you take or make your own coffee? What do you order at Dunkin/Starbucks/Krispie Kreme/your local coffee joint? Would you share your fancy secret coffee formula with us??

I'm going to Florida tomorrow for work and it's my first time dealing with flying/airports. I'm not checking a bag, just have my backpack as a carry-on, and I'm packing my laptop inside it. I don't have a sleeve for it, BUT I have a sheet of bubblewrap that would wrap around it just perfectly. If I cushion my laptop with bubblewrap inside my carry-on, is that gonna cause TSA problems?
I feel silly asking, but I'm a total airport noob!

Computer advice!

My gaming laptop is dying, and dying fast. It is overheating almost daily, especially when I do something graphically intensive, like playing video games.  I am planning on financing a new computer through either Best Buy or Futureshop (sister company to BB, if I remember correctly). I have it narrowed down to two laptops, both the same price at both stores.

There is this one, which has a Geforce GTX 750 video card, and is $869.99.
Then there is this one, which has a GeForce GTX 760 video card, and is $1129.99.

The two desktops are virtually identical except for the video cards and the power supplies (the first has a 350w, the second has 500w). Both have an Intel i5-4460 processor, the same amount of ram, hard drive space, and same case.

Is the 760 that much better of a video card to justify the $250 price difference? My thought is to get the cheaper one, and then if the video card isn't cutting it in a couple years, to upgrade to a newer video card/power supply then.

DN/DC: what video games do you play, and what should I be checking out when I get the new pc up and running?

mp3 player suggestions?

My ipod broke today and I'm pretty devastated. I've has this thing for like 6 or so years and it only broke today because I accidently dropped it. RIP.

Anyway, $250 for a new ipod classic is just not gonna happen right now, do you guys know of any good alternatives? Maybe legit places to get a refurb or someplace that offers discounts? I'd be open to any other brands that work with itunes/mac too (which may not even exist idk), they just can't be touchscreen. I mainly use my ipod in bed before I go to sleep, so I need something with manual buttons I can press and no perma-backlight. I don't need anything fancy, just something with a decent amount of space (my old 20 GB that I'm using in the meantime is definitely too small). I only have music on it, so I don't need apps/video capability.

Help? I know this is an annoying question, but I haven't had to buy one in like ten years so I have no clue where to even start.

ETA: Forgot to mention that I'm looking for something in the $150 range. Something decent quality that will last me awhile.
