In what way, if any, is your life a mess or unfavourable at the moment?

Within the last 6 months I've been laid off work due to a failing business, found out my parents have been evicted from their house, and had to suddenly move all my belongings I had in their house into my boyfriends basement, which he shares with his dad (who lives upstairs). The dog also had to come with me and half the time doesn't get along with the bf's dog. Parents had 2 cats that I had to have put in a little cage in a friends pet store because bf's dad is allergic and I can't find anyone in my friends/family to take them for me. Giving them to a shelter is not an option.
Ontop of that the bf keeps telling me for almost a year now that he wants to move out and get our own place so we can get married and have babies and be happy but he hasn't taken the initiative to talk about it with his dad to sell/move since the house isn't big enough for the 3 of us and 4 dogs.. I'm so stressed & frustrated, TQC :( any advice you'd like to lend? How can I help myself cope with this shitty situation?

Dk/dc: how's your summer going?

My nephew is turning 13 very soon and I need to start thinking of what to get him for his birthday. I never know what to get for these in-between-agers. I am unsure if I should stick closer to something like the TMNT Stretchkins since the kids seem to be into that these days, or something more like the triple LP reissue of Bl'Ast's classic SST album The Power of Expression rebranded as The Expression of Power. What do you think, Question Club?

baths: love them or leave them?

My SO thinks baths are creepy because you're sitting in still water rather than continuously rinsing your soap off. I think baths are marvelous, and I have at least one every day.

Do you like or not like baths?

ETA: Did anyone else here grow up in a house that had only a bathtub, no shower? I didn't have regular access to a shower until I was in college.

what is the most frivolous thing you spend money on that you know you probably shouldn't?

I have an addiction to candles; specifically yankee candles, which are kind of pricey.
