If you could have any five people over for a dinner party, who would you pick and why? As the Doctor has kindly agreed to collect your guests in the TARDIS your guests can be people who are dead now, and who speak a different language to you. The only stipulation is that they must be actual real people that have existed and not fictional characters. Alas, the Doctor can't stay for dinner.
I had dental surgery 2 weeks ago as of yesterday. I was meant to go back yesterday to get my stitches removed. Well, they did remove my stitches but they also ended up doing further surgery and creating many more stitches. I haven't eaten solid food in more than two weeks now and I'm looking at another three before I'm able to eat normally. This is all extra horrible to me because I am a huge foodie and I love to cook. When this is all over I am going to eat anything and everything and I'm looking for new ideas!
Will you please give me your very best/favorite recipe?
ETA: I do not like sweet things. At all. I like some food with my salt, basically... :)
Editing again because I talk for a living so I'm obvs not working right now...
I just had the best sandwich - brie with apple and fig on toasted whole grain bread. The cheese was melted and gooey, the apple crisp and the figs sweet. I would never have thought of this in a sandwich.
What's your favorite sandwich and what's the strangest sandwich you've ever had?
My shower drain is clogged with hair. The thought of pulling the hair out by hand has me gagging, so what is a good product to use? I would also like to get it done on my own, without having to hire someone. Thanks!
I come to you with a puzzle, TQC. Last night, at 12:13 AM, our phone rang. Our cable provider shows who is calling across the screen, and it said it was my 97 year old grandmother. My brother tried to answer the phone but it said "line in use," so he assumed my parents had answered it. We went to go check and make sure grandma is okay (she lives by herself still). Mom (who'd been drinking but also asleep) says it wasn't grandma, that there wasn't anyone there. I checked the phone and caller ID says ya, definitely was grandma's number that called. Mom tried to call her back, it just rang. To be on the safe side, my brother and I rode over to her house to check things out. No lights were on, and the house was locked up tight as far as we could tell.
This morning, my grandma called and said that she heard her phone ring, but she was in bed and had been in bed for more than an hour. She said she wasn't gonna try to get up and answer it, but she definitely did not call us last night.
So, can you possibly come up with any reason that we got a phone call from grandma's so late last night? I mean, it sounds to me like someone was in her house...eeeeek!
DK/DC: How late is too late to call you? Does it depend on the day of the week?
