Mr. Pants Says

bootleggin' and moon shinin'

If the sale of alcohol is legal, what would possess someone to go the highly illegal and more expensive and dangerous route of making sour mash moonshine?

Now, granted, these folks I'm referring to ain't the sharpest tools in the shed. But really?

What has made you go "Huh?!" lately?

So I need to temporarily pretend I am an adult and buy a new couch. I need one that will last a long time, but not break the bank. Any tips?

Also, some advice I have gotten so far is to get a sleeper sofa, because having the mattress underneath the cushions will make it sturdier. Any truth to that as far as you know?

Any thoughts on the comfort and/or durability of the type of couch where the ends recline?

Is doing a brunch for my 25th birthday totally lame? I have some chronic health issues that are currently making it almost impossible to leave my house to do anything but I still want to celebrate my birthday and I'm usually feeling my "best" around brunch time. My birthday is also on a Sunday so it's not like my friends will be missing work or anything (and none go to church).

If you were invited to a brunch what food and beverage would you want to be served?

For those that use Netflix, what tv show or movie do you wish they had streaming but don't?

Food Vacuum Sealer Questions...

We are looking at buying a food vacuum sealer in the next week and I saw so many that I'm having a hard time choosing. I want to spend $100 - $200 for one.

I know very little other than what I've been told. I've never actually seen them used to be honest. We're having issues with food getting freezer burned in the deep freeze which is why I think it's what we need.

Anyway, which vacuum sealers are better? How does the cutting work? Some say the cutting is included and others will say nothing at all. Does that mean the machine will cut the bags for you? Are rolls better or bags?

I'm looking at shopping either at Walmart or Sam's Club. If I don't like what I find at either of those stores, I'll go with Amazon.

I'd love some advice here. Thanks :)

what are some easy-to-prepare lunches to bring to work?

inspired by the take-out lady at Olive Garden warning me (by name even) that I'm going to turn into a spicy scampi shrimp fritta.  :(  my office is like 100 meters away from Olive Garden don't judge me.

Writing to potus?

There's all kinds of conflicting info on writing to the potus. Some sources say the envelope should be addressed to "The President of the United States", others that it should be addressed by name.

Some say the salutation should be "Dear Mr. President", others say it should be "Dear Mr. Obama", others again "Dear President Obama" or "Dear President Barack Obama". Ugh, WTF. Does anyone know the protocol for this?

Plus, obviously an answer would be nice but I'm not expecting one, and I'm aware that letters are read by staff. My instinct is that it would be rude to include an S.A.E. - is that right? Or should I include one?

ETA: It occurs to me to mention that yes, I do know the actual address.
