My annual holiday party is next Saturday and I need help. I always serve the same cold food - a vegetable tray, cheese and crackers, shrimp tray, desserts, but the hot food varies.
Due to time constraints, I'm looking to buy rather than make hot snacks this year. We have a Trader Joe's near us though I've never tried any of their hors d'oeuvres. Anything you'd recommend? Do you have any favorite national brand starters?
And if you have any hot hors d'oeuvres that you make that aren't too difficult or time consuming - I could try those as well.
Do you consider it rude/inconsiderate/whatever to order food for delivery during inclement weather? It's just begun to snow here and while a coworker was talking about ordering pizza, another was aghast at the thought, saying it was dangerous for the delivery people. There's maybe 2 inches on the ground. Roads are not awesome but there's lot of cars out there.
I'm in the mood for some hauntingly tragic movies. Sad and beautiful-like. c: Can you recommend any? (My recommendations, and kind of what I'm looking for when I say "hauntingly tragic" would be along the lines of Donnie Darko, Inception, Gladiator, The Orphanage, Black Swan, Memento, The Ring...)
I am planning to break up with my boyfriend of three years tonight. We live in an apartment that we own together.
I love and respect him deeply, and he's an incredibly wonderful guy - my best friend, as well as my partner. This is a decision I've thought about for some time and there is no doubt left. I know that of all the alternatives, this is the right one.
I know very well that it will hurt and upset him no matter what. I know that it will be sad. But what I want to know is - how can I approach this in the most respectful and honest way possible? More than anything, I want to honour the level of respect we have always had for each other throughout our whole relationship. He's a very decent, honest and intelligent guy.
TQC, whenever I eat barley, quinoa, brown rice, white rice, wholemeal bread or pasta, I feel like crap. However I can eat seeded breads, white breads and white pasta without a problem. What is going on? I am so bored of living off refined grains and potatoes (not to mention it's really bad for me)
