Most of my day will be focused on organizing a charity BBQ for tomorrow at work. We were asked by the higher ups to put together a mid-campaign BBQ for the official charity drive of the formation. They support the United Way. I have no problem with charities at work, but I am not a fan of the United Way. We have an official charity for the ship, being named HMCS WHITEHORSE, we have a local charity in Whitehorse, YK called the Yukon Learn Society. But this BBQ has to see proceeds going toward the United Way campaign.
Does your company have an official charity? Do you do fundraisers through-out the year for it? Do you agree with the money being directed to that charity?
In regards to a long term M/F relationship, what is your opinion on one of them being attracted to someone of the same sex?
Would you consider it the same as if they were to have a crush on the opposite sex?
Do you have any advice for me?
Edit: I'm not saying because she's a woman makes it any more right or wrong. Just wanted to see personal opinions. I appreciate the feedback, especially because this is new territory for me.
This morning I was reminded of a movie that I've been meaning to download, but realized that I was late for work, so I didn't get a chance to do so. I was convinced that I would remember because it's a movie I really want to see. Of course, I forgot. So, TQC, what movie have I been meaning to download/watch?
Tomorrow I'm volunteering all day at my parents' church coffee shop. I normally only do afternoons, so I'm not used to having to prep so much food. Please could you give me food ideas? All the basics are there, but I have to do shopping beforehand anyway so anything goes really. The customers are mostly mums and toddlers/pre-schoolers, but also possibly some older people.
The menu has all the basic lunch-y things (sandwiches, baked potatoes, bacon rolls), I just need to decide on three things: What soup shall I make? What should the special be? (egs: bacon and brie panini, brie and cranberry panini, interesting potato fillings (prawns, chicken), flan/tart) What kind of cake should I make?
So I really am not a dog person at all. We have three cats and i love them to death but my husband really wanted a dog as he's never had one before. I had one growing up and i loved her but other peoples dogs.. not so much. Anyways, we went to the humane society yesterday and found a dog who was abused and had puncture wounds all over her back. It was so bad she had to have surgery and i just fell in love the minute we saw her. We adopted her and brought her home and every thing has been pretty good! Today we left her at home while we were working and she didn't go to the bathroom inside at all. We took her for a walk when we got home and nothing but we weren't concerned because she hadn't eaten since we got her. They said she might not because of the stress and medicine she was taking. So we ran to the store and when we got home she had peed on the floor. No big deal at all to me but when we walked in the house she freaked out and was cowering in fear, crying, and trying to hide from me behind my husband. I felt so bad because she was so scared. I tried to pet her and love on her so she would know I wasn't mad but ever since then she's kind of avoiding me and when i'm around she walks with her tail between her legs. I know that it'll probably just take time and lots of love for her to feel comfortable but is there anything I can do to make her not scared of me?
