My friend shares an apartment with three other girls, lets call them Anne, Kate, Emma, and Julia. Julia's boyfriend didn't find a place to live and decided to move in without him or her consulting Anne, Kate and Emma. They were annoyed but said he could stay there for a week while finding somewhere else to live. He didn't find anywhere else to live and Anne, Kate and Emma confronted Julia about telling him he had to leave. Julia to him and he got mad. He left for a bit, but came back. Anne, Kate & Emma talked again to Julia, and he left for a bit and came back. Now he is living there again and the landlord of the property won't answer when Anne, Kate and Emma call.

What should they do?

So I've had really bad stomach pains for about three months now. At first I thought it might be a dairy thing, so I cut that out but it didn't make a difference. The major symptom I've been having is the severe pain on my right side right below my boob. A couple of months ago I ended up in the ER because it was so painful I couldn't breathe, but after some tests they told me it was just a pulled oblique muscle. A week or so later I had what I thought was a panic attack (crazy pain in the middle of my chest, blurred vision, couldn't breathe well), but it could have actually been related to the pain as well. The more people I mention it to, the more it's been suggested that it might be my gallbladder. After some internet self-diagnosing, it appears that I have every typical symptom of gallstones/gallbladder attacks.
So I went to my doctor last week and he sent me for an abdominal ultrasound. They called me back yesterday to book a follow-up appointment, but 'there's no rush.' So I go back on the 21st.

What do you think my chances are that it's gallstones?
If it's not that, what else could it be?

How likely am I to get a freshly spit in batch of fries if I send them back in the drive-through because they're cold or rubbery (only in situations where they're obviously gross and cold and you know you're giving them the dregs; fast food workers' input especially appreciated;).

Would you be interested in a show that revamped a series like Seinfield, largely keeping to the same story lines, but from a technologically current POV?

For those of you who've tried both...

What kinds of foods, in your experience, taste noticeably better organic rather than regular? (Particularly regarding grocery store organic version, not farmers markets or such)

Which foods taste the same either way?

Are there foods that you have personally decided are worth paying more for the organic version of?

I usually don't buy organic stuff because it is more expensive, except for one brand of margarine spread because the organic version is vegan and non-organic either are not or taste weird...but got organic strawberries the other day because the regular had a whole bunch of visibly moldy ones in various cartons right there in the store and...the the organic ones were noticeably tastier to me... still probably won't pay $2 more for em though, lol.

I know this question has been asked in several variations lately . . .

But what are you going to be for Halloween this year?
Do you have to still get things for your costume?

I'm going to be Miss Piggy. I need to get a pig nose.

My DVR died yesterday. The cable company replaced it this morning but I don't have a list of showed I was recording. I think I've got most of them. What shows did I forget to set to record?

My dad is trying to remember a movie where people are in charge of making sure that things happen in the future don't deviate from a set path, he says he remembers having tablets that had paths for people. And you can go through doors to transport to places and at the end of the movie he meets a girl on the Empire State Building or something. Any ideas?

How long would you give someone to move their stuff out of the dryer?

Situation:

person's stuff is in both dryers
stuff has been dry for 15 minutes (dryer has stopped)
my stuff is sitting in both washers waiting to move along to the next step
I have two more loads to get into the washers (and dryers)

No sign of the owners.

I hate touching people's things. Especially their underwear.

Leaving your stuff and forgetting about it for a length of time is against shared facility etiquette, y/y?

have you ever had a garage sale?

did you have any items out that people were just totally not interested?

I'm pretty sure I want to have one next year, but I've heard that clothes really don't sell so that's one thing I'm just donating to get out of the house. Other stuff I've been storing away for the garage sale, but is there anything else that isn't worth keeping around until the spring? I also have lots of books, CDs/DVDs, kitchen appliances, and cables that I'm debating whether to keep around... especially the cables, I bet demand for ethernet wires is down a lot since everybody has a wireless network huh?

Do you have a favourite baked good?

Personally I love baked goods so I don't think I can pick one.

What about pie? You can have only three pies (sweet or savory)-what do you choose?

I love pecan pie and chicken pot pie. I only like two types of pie. I can eat others but these two are the best.

Soup?

I'm not a soup person but cream of broccoli is the best.

I need to eat. XD

White to a wedding

What are your thoughts if a woman wears white to a wedding where she is a guest? Does your opinion change if it is a child?

Inspired by a wedding where a child around 9 or so was in a white dress that looked like a mini bridal gown. The girl was not a part of the wedding party nor the child of anyone in the party.

1. Are you a registered organ donor, or would you consent to donating any or all of your organs (either in death, or in life as with a kidney, partial liver, etc) if the opportunity presented itself / under the right circumstances?

2. Would you accept an organ donation if you were gravely in need of one?

2a. If you would accept an organ but not donate an organ, how do you justify that position?

Have you ever accidentally met or ran into someone you "met" on a dating website?

A few months ago I talked to this guy on OKC a few times, and yesterday I ended up meeting him in real life. Thankfully, I don't think he remembers me.

Achilles tendon injury

Has anyone here ever injured your Achilles tendon? I was recently diagnosed with an Achilles tendon injury, the doctor said it looked like I'd sprained it.

She prescribed difene spray and referred me to physiotherapy.

What treatment did you get for your achilles tendon and how effective was it?

I do not have much to go on here, but this is driving me crazy! Can you guys help me find this song? Also posted to whatwasthatone, but this comm is more active.

It's a song that I believe is currently popular because I've heard it before in commercials. Just a while ago, I heard it during a transition from the Ohio State/Northwestern game to commercial (in case anyone else is watching and heard it). It's got an upbeat dance beat and a woman singing. The only lyrics I can remember are something about "the lights" and a long "oh" right after, or maybe it was two of them.

I should add that the "the lights" part I remember was in the chorus of the song, and it was at the end of a line. Like "_____________ the lights __ ohhh."

I should also add that after playing around with my piano app, I've got a G for "the," up to A for "lights" and down to E for whatever preposition comes after. The "ohh" is a melisma that I remember as something like DEG. (likely not the actual notes, but intervals sound right)

Any ideas?

Edit: It's not "Lights" be Ellie Goulding. I am terrible with pop music, but I do happen to know that one.

Edit Part 2: It's "Applause" by Lady Gaga! The part that goes "Give me that thing that I love (I'll turn the lights on)." Thank goodness, because I was seriously going to stay up all night looking. Thanks for all of your help, guys!

Hey TQC!

I am planning a viking trip for myself for the summer (err...I mean a trip to Scandinavia, but mainly to see viking things and glaciers). I am trying to decide if it is a good idea to get some basic health insurance in case of catastrophic injury or whatnot. So my questions for you:

1) Have you ever bought travel health insurance?
2) Who did you go through? What was your rate?

Otherwise:

What do you consider the most exotic/uncommon place that you've been?
