Long story short; I borrowed a tripod from a friend. Tripod case, I noticed, is slightly ripped along the seam in one place and the material would not be able to be re-sewn. I noticed it the first time I used it, so I likely did not rip it since I borrowed it (this time)...however, I had borrowed it for about several months before giving it back and know in the small time he had it again he probably didn't use it-thus it most probably being me who broke it.
I am in a terrible financial situation-my husband has lost his job and we really only have enough to get by right now, and only for so long.
What do I do when he asks for it back? Tell him about the issue but tell him I can't offer to buy him a new one? Tell him I can buy him a new one in the distant, unforeseeable future? I'm so conflicted and I feel horrible about it.
Has anyone ever taken a vacation through Peregrine Tours? I think they are based out of Australia.
My BFF and I are considering their tour of the Dalmation Coast for next spring but we're not familiar with them and we couldn't find many reviews on the internet. We're pretty big Rick Steeves Tour Fans because while we like having a guide, we like to do things on our own as well.
DK/DC - Where have you always wanted to go on a vacation?
I had my baby in July. I ended up being a hospital transfer and spending one night at the local hospital. No big deal (although big $$).
I just got a bill showing a charge for the nursery. I've already been billed for my room and my baby didn't go to the nursery except for about twenty minutes for the hearing test. Everything else, shots, etc were done in my room so I could nurse him after. They billed my insurance $2k, leaving me just under $400 (for one night!). I don't have a lot of money, I'm already making payments on my portion, and I'm a little irritated that I'm being billed for something I didn't use.
I called the biller and she said it was "reserved space in case I wanted it" to which I replied that it sounded a lot like the hospital padding their bill. This is a large hospital (plenty of space) and they aren't a hotel where they have a planned occupancy rate based on people making reservations. She said she'd call back with more info. I'm trying to think of any situation where this is a legit charge and I can't come up with one (and I don't accept "Well that's just what the hospital does" - in the US, hospitals are notorious for overcharging and for charging for every little thing they can get away with).
Tips on disputing this charge?
My insurance company has a health care advocate I might turn to. I'm also considering negotiating, telling them, "Hey, you have the $$ from my insurance company, let's just forget my part and call it even." I'd hate my options to come down to going to collections or shelling out $400 :(
What do you consider essential for long car rides?
I'm going out-of-state for a couple weeks. I'll be riding in the car for somewhere around eight hours per day on the road (at least on the way there). I have my entertainment stuff - mp3 player, tablet, phone, 3ds - and napping stuff - blanket, neck pillow, eyemask, glasses case.
Which would hurt more: a. sending messages, knowing the person never reads any of them, and you never get a reply or b. sending messages, knowing the person has indeed read them, and never getting a reply?
What are some must see places in San Diego, CA? What about some cool shops to check out? Any place that is free or cheap to enter for entertainment/sightseeing is welcome. I'll be near the San Diego naval base.
Edit: I know this will sound dumb but where I live they don't have public transportation, so I've never taken a bus. How does that work? I plan to buy me and my brother day passes for the bus on the days my sister is working (who we are visiting in San Diego) and I just want to be sure I understand what to do so I don't look like a fool.
Today I was just looking at my daughter and got so emotional. I just love her so much and it made me so happy to know she's mine. I feel the same way about her twin brother and older brother but today she was definitely the star!
Will you post a picture of a loved one and gush about them?! (Can be a pet if you prefer)
