There has been a serious disaster that has destroyed the indoor plumbing of most buildings in your town/area for the forseeable future. People/places that have escaped this misfortune have all taken to charging for use of their shower facilities. How much is the most you'd be willing to pay to take a shower, in this situation?

Is there a reason why my mattress would suddenly start being really really bad for me? I NEVER had any problems with it before and nothing has changed, but I've suddenly started waking up with an extremely stiff back/shoulders and lots of weakness in my arms.

dk/dc, would you rather eat poop that tastes like chocolate or chocolate that tastes like poop?

Cat owners of TQC: How do you store the dry food?

I'm at a loss...I had it in a plastic container with a click-locking lid and kept it in the laundry room (bifold doors in the kitchen) on a shelf, but one of my cats is Houdini and can get into or out of anything, so he was able to get in there and knock it off the shelf, which of course made it bust open. Right now I'm keeping it on the floor in the kitchen so he can't knock it off anywhere, and I've got it upside down because he just figured out how to open the lid!

There's no other closet he can't get into in the apartment, and every high place I can think of would not be safe to store it without the cat getting to it somehow (seriously, he's a ninja). Any ideas?!

Non-cat people: I have two more brown free range eggs from a carton I bought last week sometime, and the side says "use by Aug 1." I ate two this morning...will I die? They smelled fine. Should I throw the other two out? If not, how long do you think I have before those go bad?

if someone told you that they had committed a dine and dash (upon realising that the waiter had not charged them for a main meal) at a cafe, how would you respond? would it depend on other factors (eg. reason, the amount on the bill, type of cafe, etc.?

Say a nine-year-old child's parents died. Of course, he would be grieving for them. But if they died in an accident or were put to death for a crime, is a nine-year-old child at a developmental stage where he might also feel relief that he's still alive? Would he be capable of expressing that relief, of understanding it? Or would he just know that part of him is happy about something, and he feels guilty about it?
