HEDWIG

The Big Easy

Wbo's been to New Orleans? What am I going to want to see when I'm there next April?

I don't drink or party; I'll be there for WWE WrestleMania so I'm going to take the opportunity to see the city too, since it'll probably be my one and only visit.

DK/DC: How do y'all feel about (American) Southern accents?

Me? I love them! The broader the better.

TQC, will you show me your shoes?
What shoes do you wear on a normal occasion?
What shoes are your favorite shoes?
What shoes do you own that you never wear?

(either your actual pictures, or something you found online)

So, I'm starting third shift at my job tonight after being a second shifter for awhile, and I was wondering, do y'all have any tips on staying awake for the long haul? I'll be cashiering from 9:30pm to 6am if that makes any difference.

DK;DC: Read any good books this summer? I've recently gotten into my library's collection of Cory Doctorow books. He's quickly becoming my second favourite author. I really like "Little Brother" and its sequel "Homeland". They're both sci-fi, suspense novels and I couldn't put them down.

I'm purposefully not posting this in a wedding community (I feel like there is a broader range of types of people here).

I got engaged about a week ago.

Any advice? What do you wish you would have known when you were engaged/getting married?

If you are married, what was your favorite part of your wedding?

brb, pinning all the things.

Cory Monteith

Cory Monteith died in my hometown yesterday. I stopped watching Glee after the first season but he always seemed like a really nice guy. Rest in peace.

I was looking at a news site and came across this quote from a fan: "As a person, 1/8 Monteith 3/8 was just so genuine and authentic, he was the kindest person ever," she said. "Even when I started falling out of Glee, I still followed him as a person and actor. He just seemed so awesome."

1. I have no idea what this person means when she says "1/8 Monteith 3/8 was just so genuine and authentic"....... Do you? Never mind, salamandertoast explains it: "sometimes formatting gets messed up and punctuation gets changed into different symbols, so I'm wondering if that's what happened there? like maybe it was supposed to read "as a person, [Monteith] was just so genuine..." and it glitched?"

2. Did/do you watch Glee?

Edited to add:
3. What are your thoughts about his death, even if you didn't watch the show or anything else he was in?

What's the last stupid thing someone you know has done?

Inspired by the fact my boyfriend went shopping with the last of our money to buy meat and then left it in the car for three hours. I should mention we're experiencing a heat wave right now. I'm so mad.

Bonus question; will I die a horrible death if I cook any of the meat he bought? It's roughly been about 27C all day.
