Regular NyQuil or cherry NyQuil?

Prompted by my third cold this year and me accidentally buying the cherry flavor by mistake. Both are nasty, but somehow, the cherry flavor is a special kind of hell.

Do you ever get unexplainable scratching / itching / twitching? (ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!)

I had 4 chocolate chip cookies about an hour before it started.

It started in my scalp, my neck, behind my ears, my jawline, my back, my arms, now my lower back..

Am I allergic to cookies?

Am I dying?

I wish I could jump into a bath of yoghurt right now.

What was your last unexplainable ailment?

Need a new mp3 player

I've been using a Zune for the last 5 or so years, and it's finally starting to give out (headphone jack won't connect properly, files being corrupted/not playing in spots, and so on).

What's a good reasonably priced mp3 player I can get to replace it? I have no idea where to start looking, and I'd really not like to get an iPod if only because they're ridiculously priced for what I'm looking for. I'm looking for something with around 30GB (more or less) and something similar to the Zune's features (I don't care that much about video but I'd like something that can distinguish a podcast file from a regular music file).

This is kind of a multilayered post:

1. Have you ever traveled/wanted to travel somewhere that someone (your family, SO, etc) would perhaps be concerned about?

I am 28 and I am tired of waiting to plan my trips around other people (even my long term bf). I feel like I am 'running out of time' and I want to go EVERYWHERE. I have been wanting to go to Egypt since I was about 10 years old, and it's always been in my Top 3 places I want to go.

I am a teacher and want to start taking advantages of my breaks. This Thanksgiving I want to go to Egypt on a Contiki tour (alone, so far). I will bring it up to my boyfriend and hope that he either a) wants to come with me, although he would be missing Thanksgiving and holidays are S-U-P-E-R important to him, or b) be supportive of me going and missing said important holiday. I know my parents will be worried about me, but that's less of a concern for me.

I'm bringing it up to my bf tonight because in my mind I am 100000% going and am bursting with excitement inside. I can barely contain myself, really!

2. Have you traveled to Egypt/ The Middle East before? Where did you buy a hijab and appropriate clothing? What were your experiences, specifically if you are female?

3. Where is the last 'new' place you traveled to?

Hey there!

The fashion: what would you pair with these shorts (other than a white shirt. Let's get creative.)
[these shorts]http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=91611&vid=1&pid=525077002

The curiosity: why do people comb wispy hairs over their bald spots?

The whovians: what do you think of all this talk of the twelfth doctor and people speculating?

The game: would you rather cheese grate your own arm or slide down a fireman's pole covered in outward facing tacks naked into a vat of rubbing alcohol?

the other: what's your favourite gif and/or youtube video right now? Post in comments.

the whatever to the above questions: How was your day, tqc?

edited to fix link and would you rather.

A friend of mine has asked me to write him a recommendation letter for a traineeship. I want to help him out, but I have no idea what to put in it. Is it even customary to have friends write these things? Can I just recommend him based on personal things? I write reference letters for my students sometimes too but I've never been involved in this friend's academic or professional career.

What is your favorite fruit (or jam) and nut combo for baked brie?

Is there any other way I can serve it besides with crackers or bread? Can I serve it with pear slices or something? Edit to clarify: I'm hoping for a paleo/primal option, or at least a gluten-free option.

(It's only for me and one or two other people, but one of them doesn't like brie.)

Edit 2: Thanks for the great suggestions, guys!

Imagine you're dating someone newish, and things are starting to get serious. You discover that the last person your romantic partner was involved with was world-renowned for some reason. Perhaps s/he is a movie star, an olympic gold medalist, a Nobel prize winner, or a Fortune 500 CEO. Do you anticipate you would have any emotional reaction to this news? Would it make a difference why the person is famous?

Inspired by a question asked earlier, does anyone else out there have an ever-increasing number of 'sell from home' friends in their social circle?  I feel like I am constantly being invited to make up/jewellery/purses/cooking supplies parties.  How do you turn down the invites?  Does it differ if the invitations are in person or by phone, as opposed to text or facebook?  Are there any parties you will attend, or products you will order?
