eat like a dinosaur

i have some questions but google isn't giving me any good answers. sorry if they're obvious but i really have no clue!

would doing a lot of exercise make you hungrier?

if a person is taller, do they eat more?

inspired by the fact that i'm a 5'10" dancer/runner who is always hungry like the wolf. i just noticed lately that all the tiny little 5'4" girls in my class eat like birds, while i'm basically ready to eat 9 steak dinners after doing the exact same routines. i'm just wondering if it's my height or what. we're all pretty skinny so i don't know if that's it. maybe i just have a really big appetite? i don't know!

dk/dc: what did you have to eat today?
i had two eggs over easy, a piece of toast, two toaster strudels, a mango, a chicken sandwich, pasta, a strawberry/banana smoothie, and an egregious amount of tiramisu. and i'll level with you, i could still probably eat more.

iPad Games?

I recently got an iPad and it's great, except I can't find any decent games for it! iPad users, what are some good games for the iPad? I've been playing Angry Birds (yeah I know, I'm years late getting on that bandwagon) and I'm ready to sail this frigging thing out the nearest window :/

Don't have an iPad/don't play games: Which parent or parental figure are you (or were you) closest to? Dad, Mom, Grandma, Grandpa, who?

TQC! I am visiting a friend in Bologna, and because it worked out cheaper to get a train and fly back from Rome, I will be in Rome for six hours. I have NEVER been before and have always wanted to. What do you recommend I do in Rome for those six hours? Anything I just have to do? I'll only have a backpack with me and am more than happy to walk and walk and walk.

What can you recommend to cure motion sickness? I'm going to a theme park tomorrow and want to be able to ride the rides without feeling super dizzy and sick and possibly throwing up.

I know Dramamine is a thing, but it supposedly makes you really sleepy. I've also heard ginger recommended, but is that the kind of thing you can take at the beginning of the day and feel better the whole time without repeatedly taking them?

LinkedIn

A lot of my co-workers are on LinkedIn. I have like 300+ LinkedIn connections, but not many current co-workers. Most of my connections are college friends, members of alumni associations at several colleges I attended, members of LI groups I'm in, and some former co-workers that I keep in touch with. I use LinkedIn to keep an eye out for job openings and occasionally to read interesting articles my connections post, and potentially I'll attend networking events advertised there when I'm less busy in the evenings. I prefer not to be super close with my co-workers while we work together, with a few exceptions (i.e. people I might actually socialize with outside of work, though I rarely do IRL). Being Linked with too many of them gives me a creepy feeling of being watched.

So, my current boss just sent me an invite. She is not someone I'd socialize with outside of work, though I don't dislike her. She's been reasonably fair and helpful since she's been my supervisor, about 2 years (previous supervisor was NOT fair or helpful, so it's an improvement).

Should I accept her invitation?

Note: Many of my co-workers have also friended each other on Facebook. I'm not on Facebook, so this isn't an issue for me, thank goodness.

While backing out of a parking spot, you hit a parked car. (The driver is in his/her car at the time.) There is no noticeable damage. At first the driver tells you not to worry about it. However, after a few minutes, s/he asks for your insurance information (to which you oblige) and takes pictures of both of your vehicles.

The next day you receive a text from the driver to the extent of: "Hi, this is _____. We had a minor collision yesterday. It's no big deal, but if you want to compensate for the damages, you can send $20 to my PayPal account. If not, no worries. Have a nice day!"

How would you respond? Would you send the $20 to his/her PayPal account?

What is the last gift you got a friend? I have no idea what to get my friend for his birthday (he's a historian, really into wars, social issues, anarchy) so I'm trying to rattle my little brain for good gift ideas...any suggestions?

Will you post the last picture you took?

Do you prefer using the computer/watching tv/playing video games with all the lights on or off?
My husband always wants the lights off so just the screen is visible but it hurts my eyes.

It's a rock. it doesn't have motivation

I was thinking about something I read on LJ awhile back about how Natalie Portman had been forced to honour her contract to play Jane Foster in the Thor sequel.

And I wa thinking TQC, which do you think is better? Forcing an actor to reprise a role unwilling, keeping continuity while perhaps not getting the best performance from them? Or casting someone new who actually wants to be there?

I've talked about this before...but I had mentioned to a friend that I am under extreme pressure (nasty lawsuit, court, wedding planning, going to law school, inlaws who hate me, working 70 hour weeks) and we finally talked about it and she mentioned that I had demoralized her by saying that.

She claims that by me saying that doesn't take into account her life pressures.

TQC, what do you think? If someone is talking about how they're a nut about to crack, do you feel demoralized?
