|Is wearing an alcohol themed t-shirt really that bad?

The Question Club
My boyfriend went to pick his brother up from school yesterday (who is 7) wearing a t-shirt with the Jack Daniels logo on it. A man, who was there with his wife, started to talk about how innaporprioate this was, that he was careless, irresponsible and a disgrace. He said that no child needs to see such a thing, and that he is the reason why kids are drinking so young these days. He said it loud enough so that the entire group of parents could hear this (they were all waiting in the playground waiting for their kids) and also my boyfriend. My boyfriend told him that he's got way more 'offensive' t-shirts than that, and that he can wear what he wants, when he wants, and thankfully he managed to put him in his place. Thing is, you couldn't see all of the t-shirt anyway. Most of it was covered by a hoodie.|
But still. It was an awkward situation that shouldn't have happened. My boyfriend told me that the man was also one of the 'holier-than-though' types, the sort that think they're on a higher plane than anyone else and that they're better than them.
Was the man right?
