The Question Club
Have you ever had a partner who had a very strong "bromance"/female equivalent (is there a word for this?) with someone?|
How did it make you feel?
My boyfriend has a big bromance going on with a guy at his work. The guy is pretty nice, and I'm really happy that my boyfriend has a good friend, but lately it has started getting on my nerves. It seems that every date I go on with my partner, the bromance guy turns up and I start to feel like the third wheel. Last week my boyfriend came to visit me when I was on my break at work, we're on our way to have dinner at subway, and suddenly bromance guy rings my boyfriend, tracks us down and comes to dinner with us. Honestly, what also gets on my nerves is that whenever we hang out with him (such as this time last week) he makes a whole lot of jokes about them, saying things like they wear shirts to work that the other one likes, that they slept in the same bed on a recent work trip, and that I have to "look out" when I go overseas (implying that he will make a move on my boyfriend). My boyfriend never makes these kinds of jokes.
Am I being a crazy girlfriend here, or am I validated in being a bit annoyed and confused by this guy?
