Let's say you keep a doll on one side of your room. It's tall enough that its head can peak over your bed. You wake up one morning, and the doll is the same place it's always been, but you remember a strange dream where you look over and the doll is standing beside your bed, looking you in the face. What do you do?

This has happened to me many times! :X But the doll hasn't killed me yet, so...

In a few weeks, we will be moving to a new house that will make my husband's commute about 1 hr. each way.  He is fine with this (his idea) but I know how draining a long commute can be.  What are some things that I can do to help him deal with his new commute?  And I would like to make him a little "commute" package with items that may be useful to have stashed in the car for a long commute (snacks, music, emergency equipment, etc..)  What should I put in it?

ETA- In case ya'll are concerned with the reason for this...It is a lifestyle move.  He works far outside of any city and we are moving in closer to Houston.  He has every other Friday off and we'd like to be closer to the lifestyle things we enjoy, especially since we have a young child.  We are also hoping for more work options for me when our son is in school and lots more school/activity options for him.

If you have insurance, what is your copay for prescriptions?

Mine have gone haywire as of late. I'm supposed to pay $15 for generics and $20 for nongeneric. All I get is generics and I'm used to paying $15 for them, but lately I'm being charged less. I chalked it up the meds maybe just not being that expensive and cost less than $15 in the first place (which I'd seen before), but I've started looking at my receipt and it'll say the med was $12 or whatever, but that my insurance covered $45. I would get it if prescriptions were based on percentages, but they're not supposed to be. Anyone else run into this? (I'm not complaining... at 8 prescriptions a month, I welcome the discount!).

TQC, I had this Valentine's Day idea but I wanted to run it by you:

So, I've been dating this fellow for about a month now. We're not serious yet but we are fond of each other, and we see each other a good amount. He's already brought up Valentine's Day, and I thought about making him some baked goods like cookies because while I feel it's too early to invest money in a gift or anything, I don't have a problem investing time. Now, he's a very family-oriented guy. He actually lives with his grandparents and mother because he spends a good amount of his time acting as a caretaker for his grandpa who is infirm from a stroke, and I know his family is very aware of my significant presence in his life these days (although I've only met his brother and sister who are not a part of that household). I thought about making a separate batch of cookies for them just as a nice gesture, or just making enough for him to share with his family. Is this an okay idea, or would that be weird?

I've just seen a facebook message from Friday from a guy saying: "Hello, were you at (my gym's name) last night? =]"
This guy is definitely much older than me, and clearly looked up my name from the gym sign in fire register.
I'm right to be a bit creeped out y/n?

If you are an hourly employee, do you charge your company overtime if you have to be on call?

For example, last Friday I had to log in from home and do about 15 minutes of work spread between 8-12pm. But it meant I couldn't leave the house because I had to keep checking for emails so I could do this one thing. Normally my boss handles it but she was out of town.

I happened to be watching TV so I didn't mind too much, but at the same time I feel like I should charge them something since I wasn't free. What do you think would be fair?

Treating an anxiety disorder [Jan. 28th, 2013|07:39 pm]
The Question Club

thequestionclub

[xxflyingsoulxx]
I've recently realized that I need to aggressively deal with my anxiety. It's terrible when things get tough, and I know that as I grow older, hardships will increase. I usually displace my real problems by thinking of irrational things and my overactive imagination and ability to majorily overthink scenarios causes me a great deal of stress. Being an independent and single 23-year old, I am not hugely negatively affecting anyone in my life with this yet, as I mostly just talk about it with a few of my closest friends and my therapists. But as I eventually probably find a life partner and (hopefully) have children, I don't want to be that kind of wife/mother who worries and is the anxious one while the dad is all calm and casual. I don't want my kids to suffer from it, and I know what it's like having an over-worried parent (most of the reason I am the way I am.)

I'm talking to a therapist, but I think I need to speak to a psychitarist as well. I know that only a professional can accuaretly diagnose me, but given that I'm pretty sure i have some form of genrealized anxiety disorder, I'd like an anti-anxiety medication. For those of you who have been on some, what has been your experience? Pros? Cons? Side effects? I have Xanax but it doesn't impress me. I take half of one when I'm feeling stressed (I try to limit this to once a week and have only started a couple months ago), and all it does it kind of make me feel a little high or drunk for like 30 minutes and then it goes away. I only take a whole one when I want to sleep..I feel strange, then calm, and then go to sleep, but it doesn't help long-term and it makes me feel too weird to take it in public and I don't want to become dependent on them.

I also want to do a lot of cognitive behavioral therapy, and I am also curious what your experience has been for those who have gone through that.

A bit more info: I'm an only child, and my mom died of ALS almost 2 years ago, and this is one of the main causes of my extreme anxiety issues. I am not irritable, I sleep fairly well, and maintain a healthy diet with moderate exercise, so I'm doing all of these good things, but it's not helping long term. I need to get my shit together before it gets worse or I end up hurting someone. I have been crying a lot recently and have had a lot of near panic attacks over probably nothing. So in the meantime, any other suggestions? Things that help the most right now are: getting really into my job, socializing, yoga, and a good workout.

I am making meatballs tomorrow, something I have never done before. The recipe I am using says it makes 10 servings, but only calls for 1 lb of ground beef. Since I rarely cook meat, I have no sense of size or portion. However, I just bought the beef tonight and 1 lb seems like a pretty small amount, and I am skeptical that it will really be enough for 10 servings (unless a serving is only one meatball).

Long story short...how many people can I reasonably expect to feed with 1 lb of beef? Should I buy more if I plan to feed 5 people? I'll also be serving some pasta and vegetables on the side.

I've noticed that a lot of people do, whereas I don't - not even as a kid. Makes me wonder about attachment issues.
