I have a pretty problematic relationship with my mother, due to a lot of things she's done to me while I was growing up and even after I left her house. I realized a while ago she will never change.
That said, I think she's dying. Do you think it would be better to just ignore everything, even if it might get very stressful, for the sake of patching things up? Have you ever had a major problem with either of your parents?
Have you faced discrimination at your job because of your gender? How did you handle it?
I've been working at a production bakery for the last 2 1/2 weeks. The night shift is about 98% men (there are about 5 women total, and only 1-2 women working on the production bench at a time). So far, all I have relegated to do is remedial tasks (egg-washing, rounding and cleaning). When the other women and I ask any of the men questions, we are either shushed or ignored. Despite the fact that I can pretty much do much of the work without supervision, I constantly have the men breathing down my neck. And if I get called "honey" or "sweetheart" again, I'm going to say something that they're not going to like.
What are your favorite non-English/non-Christian swear/curse/obscene/profane words or phrases, and what do they mean?
I know that there are quite a few mothers on tqc so I need some immediate advice from you parents right now.
I am babysitting a 1 year old for the first time.
She seems tired, she's rubbing her eyes but she's screaming and crying a lot. She will stop for a moment and then starts up again. I'm assuming that she's trying to fight off sleeping. Is there any way to get her to sleep besides rocking her? It's not working.
Earlier today there was one point that she was crying and I checked if she was hungry, went to the bathroom on herself, wanted to play or was tired etc but it was nothing. Is it possible that she was crying just because she wanted to?
When she crys there is a lot of snit of course so I try to wipe it off with a damp towel but she screams. I'm worried I'm hurting her. I've been gentle. Perhaps I should use a dry towel on her face? Or something else?
Sorry for grammatical errors I'm in s rush and I have her in my arms so its hard to type
I'm starting my Christmas shopping (I like to be on top of things) and I like to buy books for my very small cousins. There are two 3 year old girls, a 6 year old girl, and a 9 year old boy. All four love being read to/love reading. What books should I get them?
Alternately, what books do you think all kids should read?
My dad is taking oxycontin for some serious back pain. I have some back pain. How do I get him to share with me????
Is there anyone out there who would be willing to help me out with some math homework? I'm trying to get this, and I cannot manage it. It's a really bad night emotionally and I need this to catch up. It deals with quadratic theory.
Can I offer you something in return? I'll help you with yours, beta writing or fanfics, whatever I can give.
And for everyone else, what is your worst subject?
what's the most you have accomplished in 24 hours?
my future sister in law adopted two kittens, and then when they got sick a week later instead of taking them to the vet and getting medicine she took them back to the humane society and traded them in for two healthy kittens.
