Today i heard a girl yelling at (who i'm assuming is) her boyfriend because he didn't open the car door for her.
Personally i wouldn't mind, i'm fully capable of opening a door for myself. But I want to know:
Do you as a woman still expect special treatment from a man? Do you consider it to be courteous? Are you old fashioned?
Or are you the type that gets bothered by it? Do you want to be seen as more independent? or do you simply not like people to feel inclined to do things for you?
How often do people guess your age wrong?
I'm 22 and people always tell me i look 16 or 17. I'm often mistaken to be a minor.
Is it rude to make plans with a friend, and then, kind of at the last minute, tell them that your SO will be joining the two of you? Keep in mind that you're in a LDR and didn't know until the night before that your SO would be coming that day. Also, your friend and your SO have never met before, and your friend is somewhat introverted/shy.
I'm getting married today and I'm freaking out! I am so scared to do a thank you to my guests that it kept me up all night. It's not that I don't want to tell them how much I love them but the thought of talking to a group is making me sick to my stomach!
What are some ways I can handle this and get through my tiny speech without crying, throwing up on everyone or dropping dead?!
Do you drink coffee or tea?
Do you have a particular mug that you prefer?
What does it look like? *If you feel compelled to include a picture, I wouldn't mind.
(My coffee mug is a very jazzy yellow flower mug that I painted myself because I have no life!)
Anything you'd like to talk about?
What is your favourite free paper? I'm partial to the Portland Mercury.
In general, what's your favourite magazine or newspaper?
Are you going to watch Nik Wallenda tightrope walk over Niagara Falls tonight?
Do you care that he's going to wear a harness?
Anything exciting happening in your neck of the woods?
Yay its friday and I have successfully gone through the hardest part of the week with no problems.
Has anything happened to you this week that has totally pissed you off, made you sad, or even happy?
My friend is visiting Boston for the first time next week, what's some good touristy things we can do?
Things a native would overlook. I got museums and newbury street covered.
TQC, does anyone here work in HR?
What's it like? Do you enjoy it? What does an average day entail for you?
DK/DC: I have no idea what I want to do as a career. How did you decide/know what you wanted to do?
What should I be when I grow up?
I like writing, environmental friendliness, working with people, photography, books, the sea, ethical stuff, being outdoors etc.
What jobs are there for a soul such as I?
Dk/dc; what's the best job you've ever done?
TQC, have you (or has anyone you know) ever seen a ghost?
Do you believe that ghosts, spirits, paranormal entities or occurences may exist (whether they be the actual souls of the dead, or "recordings" of strong emotions playing back years after the fact)? Why, or why not?
What's the scariest book you've ever read?
ETA: though I greatly enjoy reading about things like this and researching any possible scientific explanations (infrasound, the Troxler effect, or just plan paranoia) for them, I don't consider myself a skeptic. I think keeping an open mind is very important, and I love the idea that there are still things occurring that have no explanation - not yet, anyway.
That, and all skepticism and logical explanation goes out the window once it gets dark and you've read too many horror stories.
Should a candidate who is running for political office be obligated to disclose any/all health conditions they have to the public? Does it make a difference if the condition is physical vs mental?
Likewise, should a woman who is pregnant and running for political office be obligated to disclose her pregnancy to the public?
1. Does it freak you out just a little when things are going really well in your life?
2. Do you ever feel like you're in a movie? What kind of movie?
3. Who would play you in your biopic?
I sang at a wedding today with the church choir. We always like to joke and be snooty about the dire music that couples so often seem to choose for their wedding, as a way to get through the constant singing of Amazing Grace in unison, et cetera.
What hymns/anthem/songs did you have played at your wedding, if you did? How important was the music to you?
Watch lovers of TQC:
Can you recommend some watches that I could buy that are in the same style that Movado has? I like their simple style on many of their watches, but there's no way I'm spending that kind of money on a watch. I don't even wear a watch (or own one for that matter!)
If you live close to your best friends, how often do you see them?
Do you miss them when they're not around?
I'm generally not a terribly needy person, but I really, really miss two of my friends if I don't see them after a few days.
If you're the type of person who gambles at a casino, how much money do you take?
How long does it usually take you to blow it?
I've been painting toys with Testor's model paint, and it's not working for two colors. Everything else is fine, but for some reason, the gold and red colors do not dry. Ever. I shake the bottles, and try to apply the paint as thinly as possible, but the toys sit there for months with tacky, sticky paint.
Is there anything I can do to remedy this problem? Is there some sort of chemical I can use on them?
I'm making a playlist called "Aural Sex". What songs should I include?
are you watching this dude cross the wire across the american side of nigara falls to the canadian side? i'm freaking with anxiety for him.
TQC, care to tell me about the first time you saw an ex after breaking up with them? Why did you see them? Was it horribly awkward? Did you have a change of heart?
I just saw my ex for the first time but I was bringing some medicine around for his landlord, and we saw each other for literally under a minute: enough time to do the hand-off, and he gave me a hug, and then I said bye. It wasn't awkward, just a little strange. Definitely no change of heart here.
My boyfriend and I are taking a road trip to Las Vegas from Seattle and I want to see some cool stuff along the way! Are there any really amazing things to see/do in Oregon or Nevada?
Is there anything you'd like to talk about?
If you had to name your child after a muppet what would you name them?
