|I have a renting question. Apologies for length.

The Question Club
I have been renting the place I live in for 6 months. Soon I will be signing a new contract for another 9 months, which would begin in September. I have a good relationship with my landlords, and they are allowing me to store my belongings rent free whilst I am away working for the summer etc. |
I am considering moving in with my boyfriend, and if I did so the move would be shortly after the new contract begins. It is dependent on him getting a job in the area, which is only a 50-50 shot. If not, I would remain in this rental for the full term. The option of him finding out whether or not he can get a job here before I sign the contract is not possible, he currently has a locum position until October.
My question is, do I inform my landlord of the situation before I sign the contract and ask their position, or wait until I know whether or not I would even want to move out and then bring it up, obviously giving them atleast one month's notice. If they absolutely refused option B I would remain here of course.
Also possibly relevant: they aren't reliant on my rent to survive or anything. They both have full-time jobs, and two other tenants. Also, I am in the UK. I pay rent monthly.
Sorry if this is a stupid/obvious question, but I haven't been in this situation before and want to check the correct etiqutte/not piss anyone off!
