do restaurant hosts almost always end up as servers? or is it possible to just be and stay a host? conversely, is one likely to get a job strictly as a cashier/counter worker in fast food? or should i just stick to applying for jobs that aren't in food service?

i ask this because i learned at my last food service job that i am so not comfortable handling other people's food for various reasons, but i'm fine doing everything else.

Do you use work out videos? If so, what one(s) do you find more effective?

Have you ever had a famous person of some kind tweet or direct message you on Twitter?

I've had Adam Carolla direct message me, but I think he meant to reply to my tweet lol

OK, so I'm really fashion-illiterate. I'm trying to find a pair of sweatpants but can't because I don't know what they're called. They're like sweatpants, but they're made out of velour or something. They're really comfortable. I found a pair in my house and I've been wearing them but they're not mine and I have no idea where they came from so I can't look them up.

Anyone know what they're called?

What are your thoughts on the following line:

[Spoiler (click to open)]I also notice that when I finally decide to shun the penis, a bunch of them pop out of the ground like Diglets and it's all I can do sometimes not to play whack-a-mole.

What are your thoughts on the lj spoiler tag? I like it. :)

CSS/HTML

hi TQC!

is there anyone here particularly experienced with HTML + CSS? I'm in the process of creating my portfolio site (I'm a graphic designer) and for the life of me I can't get a section of my code right. anyone up for helping me out? or know of somewhere I could talk to someone, preferably live? all the forums I'm finding are circa 2008.

what's the last thing you taught yourself? how frustrating was it?
I love you

Bwahaha!

My husband was using TQC math earlier. We went out to dinner, and it came to $38. He said he wasn't expecting to spend $50. I told him that we didn't, it was 38. He then informed me that 38 IS 50. I'm pretty sure he was serious, too. 38 is at least 50.

On to my question. I have a small dog who likes to sit on the back of the couch and sleep, like a cat would. He always has, it's no big deal. BUT I also have a huge bull mastiff who thinks that she can do it, too. So at least once a day I have to pick the sofa back up because she climbs on the back and knocks it over. Gently telling her she is too big to sit on the back of the couch isn't working. How can I stop this behavior and save my couch and probably the dog? One of these days she's going to get hurt doing it.

Who do you think are the best moms from television or movies?

I think Toni Collette is such a good mom in the Sixth Sense. She's so loving and wants what's best for her son, and kicks her ass to put food on the table.

w'sup tqc. so I just saw this movie last night.

if you were about to be sent off along with 23 other TQCers for a fight to the death where only one person can survive and win, what do you think your chances of winning would be? On a scale of 1-12, with 12 being "totally going to win" and 1 being "definitely gonna die"?

My ex just announced that he's in the final stages of interviewing for a police dispatcher in my city. I'm really considering calling them and telling them that he's an insane abusive psycho, because he is and the thought of him having any any power like that is terrifying. Is this a good idea?

On a date, do you expect to split or expect the other person to pay?

Does it matter to you if you always split -- and the other person never offers? What if you knew the other person couldn't really afford to pay for you/you were in a better financial situation than them? What if you were both poor college students?

Did your family save your schoolwork? Parents, do your save your kids' papers? What kinds of things do you save and what do you do with them?

My mom saved nearly every paper I even so much as scribbled on from preschool through at least fifth grade. Today she called me and told me the basement ceiling leaked on top of the boxes. I thought it was an April Fool's Day joke, but I just spent six fucking hours piecing through waterlogged cardboard boxes, looking for scraps of my childhood that could be salvaged.

Lets say I have a bachelor's degree. If I wanted to get another bachelor's (or higher) in a different subject at a different college, would the core classes/hours from my completed degree carry over? I mean, could I get a degree in another subject in less than 4 years? Or does it depend on the school? I really have no idea how this works. I'm almost done with my first bachelor's degree, but I really want to get a second one at a different school (the one I'm at now doesn't have the major I want to do).
