Does sleep paralysis ever happen to you? How often? I've always had it, maybe 1-2x/year (though it only recently occurred to me that it might be an actual THING and to look it up), but it's been happening like 3 times a week lately. Mostly when I wake up from naps. I never hallucinate, but I feel panicky and heavy and I always know that if I could just move my fingers, I would snap out of it, which eventually happens but it leaves me feeling really anxious and awful for hours afterward.

I need to smoke way more weed/get some sleeping pills y/y?

Say you go to visit your parents in another state. You and your family stay in their house for 5 days.
Do you send them a thank you note/card?

Why/why not?

Completely unrelated:

Your family goes out to lunch at a very casual pizza place. You don't feel much like pizza, so you go and grab a sandwich from the place next door. Is it okay to eat your sandwich with your family in the pizza place?

Do you think eating/drinking (non-alcohol) while driving should be a ticket-able offense?

What if the person eating/drinking is obeying all other traffic laws and is not swerving/driving dangerously?

DK/DC : What was the last thing you gave away for free?

I just gave away a piano.

1. What book are you currently reading?
2. What's the last book you read?
3. What are some books on your "to read" list?

1. The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender which I just bought from Borders today.
2. The Inheritance of Loss by Kiran Desai which sucks and I couldn't finish
3. Let The Great World Spin by Colum McCann, Syrup by Maxx Barry, Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger

Would you be excited or kind of put down if your boyfriend proposed to you with a gemstone ring instead of diamond?

Did you know that the voice of Doug Funnie is also the voice of Fry from Futurama?

What was the last thing that you did that you didn't think you could do/do as well as it turned out?

I just rocked out my first bechamel sauce and thought it was going to be way harder than it was!

Question two: my dad's been running AOL 9.whatever on his computer for the past five years or so and it's starting to not be excited about opening and such. He doesn't like Firefox because he likes all of his programs and windows to be in the same space (Remember how you'd have your browser window and then your buddy list on the side of the same screen?). You guys have any suggestions for him?
do you have secrets for me?

commercials and advertisements and things are supposed to make us want to buy things but do they ever make you NOT want to buy something?

commercials and things rarely make me want to buy something. if i want something, i already want it, not because of a commercial. but so often i find myself not only disinterested in but opposed to buying a product because the commercial or magazine ad is just so dumb.

BONUS QUESTION: i'm sick of my roommate, she's loud and rude, and the flowers she just brought home stink. what kills flowers, fast? i probably won't do it but i like thinking about it.

When someone asks a question about pronunciation that doesn't take into account regional variations from your area, do you get annoyed? Do you not care? Or do you think "I'm sure my pronunciation would have been a viable option if anyone knew about it"? Or do you present a secret fourth option?

When someone asks a question about your pronunciation of a word beginning "nu", and all of the options for "how I pronounce this" involve "new", do you wonder how people pronounce "new"?

Do you pronounce "new" as "noo" or "nyoo"?

Have you ever gotten over a phobia? If so, how? How long did it take?

Next month I'll be staying in a 70 story hotel, which sucks because I have both acrophobia and megalophobia. So not only am I afraid of being high up in the building, but I'm also afraid of being anywhere near the building. In the weeks before the trip I'm going to try to visit the hotel a couple of times for exposure, but I'm not really confident about it working. So have any of you gotten over a phobia to give me some tips?
