The Question Club
My fiance and I got engaged in May of this year. He had promised to move in in June of LAST year, but didn't. Part of the terms of our engagement is that he move in with me, and soon. Problem is, he works an hour away, and commuting is not really an option, so he needs to find a new job. His resume was lost on his computer after he ran some program on it, and now he has to start over, using a sample resume my father wrote. He now claims he has lost the sample resume, but "knows where it is." On top of that, he hasn't told his parents he is moving out of their house and in with me. He's 26 years old. I have given him until the end of this month to figure his shit out.
TQC, should I not get my hopes up and get ready to return a lovely piece of jewelry?
ETA: His parents are old fashioned and are the type that think people shouldn't live together until they're married. IIRC, my fiancee's brother moved out at age 18, and their father refused to speak to him for something like 2 months.
Second Edit: I told him that I wanted to speak to his parents this weekend about his moving in, and it seemed to light a fire under his ass. He's going to work his resume tonight while I'm at a memorial service, and I'm going to edit it when I get home (I'm an English major, it's what I do). We're also going to scour monster.com and all the local .edus to see if we can find some options.
