The Question Club
Okay, I need TQC's computer/gaming geniuses, please.|
I play Everquest 2 on occasion (ie when I can pay for it for more than 2 months at a time), and the other day downloaded the 7-day "Play the Fae" trial.
Recently upgraded to 1.5 gigs of ram, and have a 1/73 GHz Intel Pentium processor. Nothing fabulous, but it works. I don't know if it's just this trial, or what, but after about 15-20 minutes of gameplay, my video driver crashes. ONLY with Everquest, and even with the graphics performance turned ALL the way down to the point where I can't bear to look at it. My boyfriend had me go to windows update (the site), but it couldn't find any updates. It ran better when I only had the 512mb RAM, honestly. And I'm sure it's not my internet connection, as it also ran better previous to my RAM upgrade and whatnot. Not saying it IS the RAM upgrade, as theoretically that would help it run even better...
I got a "video driver failed" error, and was wondering if turning it's entire performance down would help, and not just the graphics. If it continues to do this I might just invest in a better computer anyway (it keeps me entertained while at school, and I do not like WoW at all). The entire computer would lock up, so I'd wind up just unplugging it (laptop, so games are a pain anyway, and I do have a LT cooler).
Any suggestions on what I can do, either with the computer or EQ2? :(
