Why does my (public) photobucket account get something like 2,000 hits per month, when I don't actually link it to anyone, no one has an excuse to really care about it, nothing trashy is in it, and other people have hellza less hits that show that basically only they access their account, even though theirs is also public?

ok, i've just been having a discussion with xunforgivenx regarding pet names that annoy us, for her it's someone calling her sweetie' or 'sexy' for me it's my first ex calling me 'babe' or anyone complimenting me using the phrase 'you're sweet' and it got me curious.

so do you have any pet names, or compliments that annoy you?

1. When I used to dye my hair, I used Feria. I'm dyeing my grandmother's hair today, but I don't want to use that because it's expensive (you get waaaay too much for her hair, she has short/thin hair) and harsh (she has sensitive skin). What's a good permanent dye that isn't as harsh, but that will cover gray and previously colored hair? Obviously, I'd like one I could easily find at a CVS or something.

2. If you faxed your resume somewhere, but weren't sure they actually got it, would you call in a few days to make sure they did? I spoke to the guy who was supposed to look at it, and he was REALLY interested in hiring me and asked me to fax my stuff over, but he hasn't called me back and it certainly wouldn't be because of something on (or not on) the resume itself. :/

I'm filling out a job application- some jobs have nice acceptable reasons for leaving- "moved away for school" or "position ended."
My current job, however, The reasons are kindof "something better came along"(this job) and "pay not worth the unhealthy levels of anger it produces" and "It's mcdonalds". And I'm not even actually putting in my notice until I know if I have this job... although I suppose since everywhere is hiring right now I could and then if I don't get it go somewhere else.

Anyway.
What do I put? Is this a time for "personal reasons," or do places just look at that like a cop-out?

Stupidest thing you've ever seen on a job application?
Over bosses shoulder, skimming application- under why they had left last job: "They fired me for not 'fitting in.'" Why say that? why not just say "terminated"? or even 'personal reasons' or fired- explain at request' or soemthing?
(it was mcdonalds. he was hired.)

if you could change one minute detail in your life, what would it be? why?

i don't mean redoing some horrible/wonderful event, but rather something that was completely insignificant to anyone but you. you know, a small, almost completely meaningless thing...but something that you think about from time to time, and wish it would've gone differently, for whatever reason.

for example, i would like to not have told a certain pointless lie. not that it makes any difference, but if i hadn't said what i said on the spur of the moment, i would've felt much better about myself that night. it would have effected nothing, either way, in the long run.

I went ahead and told a boy how I felt. His reaction wasn't one of "oh my god, get away from me". He reacted saying he was shocked because I played it so cool and that he never expected me to even say anything like this. He was extremely flattered it seemed, and some insecurity showed through also in the way he reacted. So that was that. That night he called me and we chatted.

I haven't heard from him since. (wednesdays night last week) Mind you he works fucked up hours and sleeps when I'm awake and so on.

I've left it alone, and decided he wasn't interested.
So last night at 3 am he's on msn and says "just wanted to say hi".

Also, around 8 pm he was on, and so was I. I said nothing and neither did he. So why bother saying hi at 3 am.
Because he knows I am asleep?

Dumb dumb.

1. Imagine you're a mermaid/man (where could this be leading?) and you've fallen in love with a human. You're told you can become human to try and get them to fall in love with you, but if you fail you're going to turn into seafoam. However, if you stab the person you love in the heart you get to keep living. Naturally the person ends up falling in love with someone else so you have to decide to be turned into seafoam or stab him/her in the heart. What do you do?

2. Anyone else just love that version?

3. If someone were to fall with enough force that most of their back was bruised, about how long do you think it would take the average person to heal? How long before the bruise was just ugly and not hellishly painful?

4. I'm a financial analyst, which basically means I work on a computer playing with numbers all day. I work in a werehouse however and while I tend to wear fairly nice pants and shirts a lot of people wear jeans. I could too I just don't most of the time. In the winter it's going to be cold in here and I've bought myself one of those coats that resemble Willy Wonka's from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Do you think that would be too garish to wear at work?

Since this is a character you want to do what they'd do and not what you'd do, or at least that's my thinking. But what if what you know they'd do would only cause conflict (of the really bad kind) later on? Do you do what they'd want to do or do you just do what you would do?

DVD burning [Aug. 23rd, 2005|03:43 pm]

[b0pp]
Trying to help out a friend here, but I have limited info right now.

When using this drive:
http://www.baber.com/drives/desktop_cdrom/dvd/sony_dwu10a_specs.htm

And trying to burn a DVD, it never works. It always says the media is wrong.
This is using Memorex DVD+ discs, which I've heard have compatibility problems sometimes, so we're going to try a different disc if my attempts to burn a DVD later tonight don't work.

Any idea what the problem MAY be?? I know it's not much info, but my friend says, if is a DVD project, like to be played on a DVD player, it works. But when it's just data (ie pictures, documents, video files, etc) that he is trying to back up or make a copy for someone, it always tells him it is the wrong media and/or there are items already on the disc. But the disc are all brand new, just out of the packaging.

Help help pretty please?

2) if part-time what are the shifts like for both, and what are weekends like? i don't mind working shift-work but i hate working every weekend since my family lives 2 hours away and that's time i can be spending with them.

3) are the employees allowed facial piercings? i have a labret and nose done. i don't want to make a "bad" impression by having them in during an interview or even dropping of resumes.

4) anything else bad or good you can say about these places? wal-mart seems like, way too happy for its own good...but it's pretty close to where i live so...whatever. :)
