Hello! I just won a free song on iTunes (yes, I know, I'm such a boring person for not wanting to download illegally). The thing is that I pretty much own all the music I like--there isn't anything that I've been wanting to get for a while now. So tell me your favorite songs! I like to listen to Rufus Wainwright, John Mayer, and the Beatles if that helps you with the genre.
1) Does your week start on Sunday or Monday? (Or perhaps another day?) Preferably something unrelated to Valentine's Day (but if you can't think of anything else..): 2) What is something you are looking forward to this coming week? Something you are fretting? 3) Any goals set for the week? 4) There was a number four, but I forgot what it was.
I live in the US and I ordered a dvd from Amazon UK (new & in stock) on January 22, on January 23 they sent me an email saying that it'd been dispatched via air mail and should arrive by February 1. That seemed very speedy and optimistic given that I used to trade tapes with people in other countries and they were never that quick. The arrival date has obviously passed and the order status on the site is "complete". The only thing I can find in the order tracking is the info I already know... date ordered, estimated arrival date, etc... not really much in the way of actual tracking.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had an idea of what would be a reasonable amount of time for my dvd to arrive before I start thinking that it's gotten lost. I already had to sort out being charged twice for it, so I don't want to e-mail customer service again unless I *have* to. Monday will be/is the 16th business day since I placed the order. Thanks.
(also thanks to the person who gave me the mystery shopper link, it's very useful)
Since it's Valentine's Day, I usually compile songs that I use to listen to, ie. Coldplay-Yellow, Counting Crows-Color Blind, Blues Travelers-Mountains Win Again, Nirvana-Lithium, Incubus-Wish You Were Here, Filter-Hey Man Nice Shot. Can you think of any other groups along these lines with the same sound during this era?
You know those missed connection ads in newspapers and places like craigslist.com? Do they ever work? I mean - have you ever heard of someone actually getting in contact with the person they were looking for this way? Has it ever worked for you? Have you ever made a listing, or been the subject of one?
So, you know how camera phones are growing to be the standard phone these days? I was wondering, should I not be taking my phone into the concert with me?
The tickets say no recording devices or cameras. My phone is a camera phone (no flash). I'd really like to take it in with me but I'm not sure if it would be allowed in. My old phone was allowed, but it wasn't a camera phone.
I swear, this is my last application question: (Thanks for everyone's help earlier; I ended up finding my registration number and am sorting it out now)
There's two "essay" questions 1. Life Experience: If you are not currently enrolled in a high school, college or university, what have you been doing of a non-academic nature since you left school? I've answered this one. 2. Supplemental Information/Essay (Optional):
In the space below, supply additional information you feel will be of assistance in our consideration of your application.
Is there a free mail access out there that I can place settings to check mail through outlook? I have currently yahoo! mail that I paid for and hence can use this service. But I probably will not be renewing since I don't have the electronic means to do so at the moment.
Anyone know a way that I can record music from Gamecube games onto my PC? The only thing I can think of is running the audio cables into a sound system, and then a cable from from the sound system into the record port on my computer, but all of my stereos and such have those speakers that connect via wires rather than real male/female sockets. Anyone got any ideas? ^_^"
EDIT: I talked with this guy's supervisor and she said she heard him say the same thing too so she talked with him about it. He said that it's how his parents brought him up. He was taught to stay active so the "sickness wouldn't settle". He said it's part of his culture (Puerto Rican). So, I guess it's his prerogrative. I would consider it abuse, but maybe it's not.
History. This guy at work brought his daughter (age 4) to work today. She's really sick and has some kind of lung infection. Anyways, I was talking to her and asked her if she wanted to lay down. She said no and that she's not allowed. I said okay. Well, maybe you can lay down when you get home. She said, "no, my daddy said I have to ride my bike outside." I thought she was mistaken, so I went and asked her dad a few minutes ago. He said that yes, she has to ride her bike. I told him that she's sick she should be resting. He said that she's going to stay sick if she doesn't get some motivation and she needs to ride her bike so she won't get lazy. I told him that she needs her rest so her body can heal. He said she can rest when it's time to go to sleep. I really am disturbed by this. This little girl is always sick from something or another. Just a couple of months ago she had pneumonia and a virus after that and now a lung infection. This guy is really a jerk and if anyone says something to him to correct him, he gets loud and tells them off.
Question. How much into his business should I get on this issue?
What book should I read next: "Fluke" by Christopher Moore or "A Treasury of Great American Scandals: Tantalizing True Tales of Historic Misbehavior by the Founding Fathers and Others Who Let Freedom Swing" by Michael Farquhar
I can't decide. I'll go with the majority vote on this one.
People seem to love gmail...and I can't seem to get used to the layout. I can't stand the threading and it bugs me that there is no way to turn it off. I sent out a mass email alerting people of my email changes and I can't stand the way responses from different people were clumped together in one thread. Am I the only one who doesn't like gmail?
With the ever looming presense of lawsuits, do you still download music, illegally? How do you feel about the whole thing? What gets a person caught? How many songs would you say you download, on average?
I googled it, but could only find that they were supposed to perform, so what is this drama at the Grammys with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony? I've been hearing about it all day, but I don't generally watch awards shows and have no idea what they're talking about.
1. What is the highest acceptable age difference between a boy and girl? The boy being older. 2. What audio player do you use? 3. Do you have an Audioscrobbler account? If so, link! 4. What song can you relate to most today?
You totally don't have to answer all three...but I had a lot on my mind:
I work, I attend university, and I can be claimed as a dependent. I'm considering talking to a tax professional, but off-hand do any of you know if my status entitles me to any benefits? I'm trying desperately to avoid paying $40 (They'll arrest me first *shakes fist*)
What's the most pretentious female name you can think of?
I had a great time this evening just hanging by myself, drinking rum and watching Titus and Killer Tongue. Did anyone else enjoy having Talenvine's Day all to themselves??
(and can you guess what those two movies have in common? hehe)
I'm playing Addiction Solitaire on Yahoo!Games and watching episodes of Simpsons on my computer at the same time, but I can't figure out how to turn off the sound on the game. I'm using Firefox. Messing with the volume control of the computer turns off winamp too, so I can't hear the Simpsons. :o(
Anyone know how to turn off the sound on Firefox only? Thanks!
I'm going on a Trip to Italy & Greece this April. It's a school trip and you can see our Itinerary ( Collapse )
Anyway, we're suppose to make a list of 3 things we want to see that are in the places we are visiting but not already on the Itinerary (hope that makes sense). Like, What else in Rome is there to do besides what is listed etc.
There's this song. I think it's from the 50's or 60's, it's entirely instrumental, fairly slow tempo, and I guess it's supposed to sound "Hawaiian" or "tropical." It was played fairly frequently on the oldies station that my parents used to listen to, but I never caught the name of the song. I think it may have been in a movie soundtrack or two, as well.
Does anybody have any idea what the name of this song is? Yeah, I know I'm giving you guys a whole lot of info to work with.
