Wolf- Fantastic Mr. Fox

(no subject)

When's your birthday? Do you like your birthday? Or would you rather have some other birthday-- if so, what?

Do you think birthdays are a big deal, or that they don't matter much?

Do you know anyone with chronic Lyme disease? Or disseminated San Joaquin fever (a.k.a. Valley Fever, California Fever, technical name "coccidioidosis")?

If you do, what's it been like for them?
Inconceivable

What would you do?

What would you do with your time if you were forced to be at home due to illness and couldn't do much of anything physical (including the fact that your hands hurt too much to knit, write, type, or draw for any length of time)?

Politically, what type of a. hometown and b. household did you grow up in (i.e., more conservative or more liberal), and how has it shaped your political/social/economic views?

Edited for clarification

Does anyone know the name of the movie..?

Okay I know there are dragons in it. It's supposedly the future..and there's a bunch of humans trying to kill all the dragons. Oh gee..aren't I specific? But then again..that's all the movie is about.

DOS Color Output Overriding

Hello folks. This question is a bit complicated, so bear with me.

The question is: Is there any way to override color output on DOS programs that you run from within Windows (particularly Windows XP)?

The reason I ask is because I am visually impaired and every now and then I will come across a program that uses low intensity colors (such as Zork, which uses low intensity white on a black background). Ideally I would like to be able to switch my DOS Box (Command console or whatever you want to call it) from Color to High Intensity White on Black. I am banging my head on my desk trying to find a built-in utility or a third party tool that will help me do this. Basically I am looking for a way to strip the text colors of DOS programs and make them bright white on black.

Thanks in advance.

Could someone give me a complete step-by-step set of instructions for putting on eyeliner? Leaving nothing to be assumed or accounted for by common sense, preferably. Thanks in advance!

Totally random (what here isn't, though?)...

Has anyone ever been given a bag or box with a bunch of small, seemingly random items in it and some profoundly inspiring explanation for each? I got one of these a long time ago from a coworker at a camp, and I'm mentoring some freshman nursing students now and think this would be a perfect idea. Some examples were a pack of gum to remind you to stick with it, an eraser because we all make mistakes, etc. I'm looking for a list, but if any of you come up with suggestions for individual items, that'd work too.

Cheers, Josh

which disney villain do you think has the best solo?

I think that either Jafar's reprise of Prince Ali is pretty sinister, but I don't know if I count reprises, so I'm going to say Gaston's song. It cracks me up. But then again, Scar has a wicked song too. Its so hard to choose!

Windows Media Player

I downloaded a video file from Limewire and it's in Windows Media Player. Once it was completed, the file opened and the movie began to play, however there was only sound and no picture (just a black screen). Does anyone know why this is and/or how I can fix it?
TIA!

Ive been trying to make a good strawberry daquiri and i just can't get it the right consistency. I bought one of those strawberry daquiri arbor mist mixes you can get, put the right amount in, plus ice and it came out so thick you needed a spoon. So then I tried again with less ice, more mix and it was watery. Then I tried adding vanilla ice cream so it would be creamier but its still watery. I just can't get it the way they make it in restuarants. I want it to be icey but not pure liquid, you know. creamy, icey, smooth. Does anyone have any ideas for me or a good recipe? How do you make them?

For any Aussies here:

What are some of the most Australian songs you can think of? I'm sending a CD full of typically Australian songs to a friend who lives in the US, and I want to try and find some really Aussie songs to send. So far I've got Waltzing Matilda, The Wiggles, and the Skippy theme... anyone else have any ideas? :p

Hi guys, I'm trying to make a moon out of paper, and I have black, yellow and white, and a silver crayon, but no matter what I do, making a full moon either looks like a bowling ball, a cookie or a sun. Does anyone have any ideas?

I am Like a Rose
by D. H. Lawrence

I am myself at last; now I achieve
My very self, I, with the wonder mellow,
Full of fine warmth, I issue forth in clear
And single me, perfected from my fellow.

Here I am all myself. No rose-bush heaving
Its limpid sap to culmination has brought
Itself more sheer and naked out of the green
In stark-clear roses, than I to myself am brought.

Any idea what he means in this poem? I personally think it's about the author finding his real self, but I'm not sure.

Your thoughts? Care to expand on my idea?
