cheating death (or nausea)

What dumb things have you done in your past that could’ve injured you or made you ill, but didn’t do either?

Me? Well, once in the orthodontist’s office, I was having some kind of procedure done and was supposed to fill a plastic cup of water and rinse out my mouth. All the regular sinks were being used, so I went into the bathroom to use that one.

Well, for some reason the faucet was oriented so that I couldn’t get the cup under it very well, so I plugged up the sink and filled it with water, put my head down, and sucked the water out of the basin.

Remember, this was a sink used by most, if not all, of the patients at this orthodontist’s office.

I was 12.

How I never got dysentery I’ll never know.

Ok, I'm a serious vegetarian but I dont like guacomole, HOWEVER, I do really like avocado... So, what can I pack for lunches that has avocado in it???

And also, Is there a certain person on this community who always seems to have the answer your looking for, or at least can tend to lead you in the right direction? If you could present an award to that person, who would it be?

Understanding Islam

I picked up a copy of the Koran a few months ago, but I haven't read any of it yet because I really don't know where to start. My goal is a decent understanding of Islam, I'm not looking at converting. Should I just go cover to cover, or are there specific passages that are most critical?

Perhaps there is a good "What is Islam?" type website out there with lots of references to the Koran that I could read, and have my copy at my side as I go through so I can read up on original context and such?

what does the phrase "dont lets start" mean?
i never thought about it much, until i noticed it in both "a praise chorus" by jimmy eat world and, obviously, "dont lets start" by they might be giants.

I was thinking of signing up for a t'ai chi course this fall, but I'm a little skeptical. I know what it is, and I've seen people doing it a bunch of times, but I just don't understand how it's benefiatial. Has anybody done t'ai chi and found it helpful?
