I just got two new funky piercings in my ears...one in my tragus and another along a ridge of cartilege that I don't think has a name. Anyway, the tragus feels good, but the other one is sore. It's not infected, just tender. And knowing my body and how it heals, I should have no problems in terms of infections. But what can I do to soothe some of the pain before it calms down on its own? Would ice or painkillers like Advil work?

It was brought to our attention that a post from earlier this weekend violates LiveJournal's TOS. I have since deleted this post in order to ensure that our community is no longer violating LiveJournal's TOS.

Although asking questions that violate LJ's TOS is already mentioned in our community rules section, I feel that it is necessary to re-emphasise this rule:
Any posts which violate LJ's Terms of Service will be deleted. In particular, posts asking for or containing information which violates any applicible laws will not be tolerated. This is your only warning. Any posts asking for/containing illegal information will result in the loss of your right to post here.
I really dislike having to make posts like this, but I like this community too much to run the risk of losing it because of posts that violate LiveJournal's rules.

On a related note, I will be updating our rules page a bit and removing some that are no longer relevant.

Now that this little bit of unpleasantness is over, I get to ask my question!

--

So, what exciting things did you do this weekend?
I finished up a little utility program for work on Friday night, I went to see Dawn of the Dead for a second time with a bunch of friends on Saturday night and I also watched Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (twice) on television. To cap off the weekend I played in my roommate's Dungeons and Dragons campaign with a group of friends. We did a bunch of foolish things, and nearly got the entire group killed.

Has anyone else seen "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" with Jim Carrey and Kate Winslett? What did you think of the movie?

I don't think I've ever been so engrossed in a movie before. It's certainly not your standard Jim Carrey movie.

Also, did anyone here see "Club Dread"?

HELP!

I made an icon for someone, but it's TOO LARGE. Is there any way to shrink a GIF file to under 40k? I suppose I could just make it shorter... blah.

ETA: I mean the file size is too large. I should have said that. Durrr.

I plan on dying some Easter eggs, but I just realized that the package says to use warm eggs. I boiled mine last night and ended up putting them in the fridge because I was too tired to mess with dying them, so they're obviously not warm.

1.) Is it really that big of a deal?

2.) If it is, how do you go about warming a cold hard boiled egg?

I was wondering if Erica and Kendall are actually related in real life. Because they look a lot alike on the show.

is it really a common thing, or is it something that I'm just seeing as a last resort?

Okay, let's say you make some microwavable macaroni and cheese that requires 6oz of water (just an estimate), could you apply those ounces to the amount of water that you're supposed to drink in a day?

I mean, we're all supposed to drink at least 64 ounces of water a day, so would that water that you prepared your food with count?

I want to buy an ipod mini. The kicker? I don't know whether or not that one can put mp3's that were downloaded illegally onto it or not? Do you solely have to use iTunes music, or can you place illegal mp3's on there as well?

i am addicted to the internet like it's crack. i'm on it as much as possible yet it doesn't make me happy. i do lots of business (ebay and whatnot) on the internet but that could all be accomplished in an hour or less. when my internet goes down for the night (due to the firewall), i start thinking about things. i go into my own little world and i'm happy. i often wish i didn't have a computer. because the internet eats your brain.

what is your addiction?

Is anybody else's livejournal doing weird things- like shuffling friend's list posts so that they're not in the order they were posted? Some of them are from March 28, then March 23, then it jumps to March 25, and back and forth. It's really annoying. It's been happening for a few days now.

every time we buy bread, a day or two later the bottom part of the crust is hard and stiff. we do keep the bread on top of the microwave, but it's not running constantly or anything.
is it the heat of the microwave, or the preservatives in the bread?
