But it's still winter!! [Jan. 27th, 2004|01:08 am]
The Question Club

Why do all the department stores have swim wear displays up right now? Do they always do this in the middle of winter, and I've just noticed it for the first time this year. But still! Why would they do this?

I've wanted to buy a swimsuit in fall in years past and had none available except online, so this seems especially irksome.

Does your mom read your LiveJournal? I'm just curious how many of you have mothers reading your journals, how you feel about it, and whether it changes your content at all (or your protected posts at all).

[mood |lonelylonely]

1- Eating:
~ Do you eat breakfast? If so, what kind of food(s) do you normally eat?
~ What times do you tend to eat your meals?

(I sometimes do and sometimes don't eat breakfast. If I do, it tends to be a juice box, and a cereal bar or somthing that I can eat in the car 'cause I am always running late in the mornings. If I eat lunch any later than like, 11:30, I won't be hungry til 6pm or so. Which. . . . my fam sort of eats dinner together, so I never know how to handle things when I am busy and can't eat lunch til 1 or 1:30 pm and then I'm really hungry. . . . but if I eat then, I will still be full when dinner time rolls around, and my fam expects me to eat, and with them)

2- Are you still good friends with any of your ex's? Have significant others since them known, and if so, how did they feel about that?

(I'm actually friends with all of my ex's, and my gf knows and doesn't care. One is away in the army, another is currently living in Cali {I'm in Ohio}, and the third. . . we ended bad but are friends again, and my gf has hung out w/ us and all that jazz. That's a fairly new friendship, and I think it's cool but I'm like. . . . dude, this is kinda weird though I'm glad we are all friends. So I don't know if that's normal or not =)

i'm looking for a decent role playing game maker program for the pc. i've heard mixed reviews about rpg maker 2 for ps2, so i thought i'd ask about any for the computer. so what's good out there?

oh, and i'm meaning a simple program with cheesy graphics, tinny music, and free range with the story. :) mind you, if the graphics or music are better than crap...that'd be great...i'm just not expecting much.

[mood |annoyedannoyed]

I just recieved a spamish e-mail, to a private account that I don't use for anything other then communicating with friends, and they both (same e-mail sent twice) contained a virus. I have a very good virus program and that caught them and got rid of it, but it's annoyed me enough that I want to try and hunt this guy down.

The e-mail that was used was one for a comic for a paper in the US, as it was his work e-mail and it was rediculously simple to track it back to him, I'm going to lay dollars to doughnuts that he didn't do it. I've never heard of him, or his paper, and as he's an older gentleman, I'm guessing that there is nothing in it for him.

But the e-mail also came with a couple of different ip addresses attached. Now they might not go anywhere, or they might, I have no way of knowing. Hell, I don't even know what I'm going to do if and when I find anything out.

My question, after all of the long windedness, is how would one go about tracing an ip address. I'm guessing that this person is in the US, so I'm looking for something most likely on continental North America. But I've tried ARIN and I've tried a few other things and nothing has come back.

If anyone could make a couple of suggestions, or give me a description of something else to put into ARIN to search that (I haven't used the site in a while and I'm not entirely sure that I'm doing it right) I would be very happy.

Thanks for the help in advance!

I accidentally left chapstick in my pocket and it went through the wash. Just the washing machine, not the dryer.

Is it still okay to use?

Have I got a virus? [Jan. 27th, 2004|06:45 pm]
The Question Club

The following email just came into my inbox (no attachment):

Subject - Message quarantined by ITS due to a virus

Body of mail:

Scanner: MailMonitor for SMTP v1.2.2

Problem description:
Email data:
From: (my email address was here)
To: (an email address in New Zealand was here but I thought I had better obscure it)
Subject: STATUS
Scanning part []

Scanning part [doc.exe]
Attachment validity check: passed.
Virus identity found: W32/MyDoom-A

Does this mean, as I suspect, that my PC has got a virus and is trying to mail it out? The email address of the recipient mentioned in the text is in New Zealand, and not anyone I have heard of.

I have eTrust antivirus installed.
A quick scan says there are no infections.

I know this is my second post in one day but this is a good one:
2 parts

1. Who gave Joan and Melissa Rivers power to tell other people what is fashion, has anyone looked at them? Do they look in the mirror before they leave the house?

2. Why hasn't someone tried to kill Joan and Melissa Rivers yet? Is any one up for starting an angry mob to get them??

The Question Club

I don't really expect or think anyone will answer all of the following, but I figured I'll give a list so there's a question for everyone.

What do you think is the most beautiful name, boy or girl?

The best invention/development ever?

The best movie?

Best song?

Greatest event?

Most influential person?

The one thing you can't live without?

The one person you can't live without?

Okay...I guess that's enough...I'm sure I'll think of more later, but that's for another time.
