Where does the saying "under the weather" to mean ill/poorly/sick come from?

Hey guys, I wonder if you can help. I am pretty new to freelance photography. I have been doing mostly outside stock photogrpahy so far but I'd like to do some indoors shots. I'd like to buy a flash gun to go with an slr I was given (Canon AE-1) but what type would be best?

What do you guys put in your tunafish when you're making a sandwich?

I add mayo, salsa, and pickle juice. My friend from middle school used to put diced apples in hers, and my sister doesn't put aaaanything in hers.

I'm trying to create a FREE web board, that needs no web space. That is, I have no website to host it on. I also need to be able to control who can post, preferably by setting up user names and passwords for the people I want to post. Is this possible? Does anyone know of a website that does this? Thanks!

Scars... [Sep. 28th, 2003|03:39 pm]

My friend works at an airport, so he sees tons and tons of people everyday. And, you know how style is these days, teenage to low 20 year old girls like to wear shirts to show off midriffs, etc.

He asked me a question last night. He said that he noticed that on a lot of these girls, there's a scar on their back that's about 6 inches long running vertically along their spine. Like, right where their spine is. On a lot of the girls.

He asked me what it's from, because I'm in that age group. I have absolutely no idea.

Does anyone know why people, notably a late teen/early 20 year old girls, would have a 6 inch scar running along their spines on their backs?

It's very likely guys have this scar too, he just can't tell because, well, guys don't go around airports showing off their tummies and backs. ;-)

Thanks!

has your lip ever gotten stuck to a super-cold popsicle, and when you pulled it off, you were bleeding? (happened to me--I bled on my banana pop after church. Crazy.)

Ok, I want to go back to college, but not just any old expensive college. Must have an excellent English department, good mix of students, thought-provoking classes and interesting stuff.

Folks, I turn to you for help. Who among you can pimp their school hard? Cmon, let's hear it.

someone called me and the phone had a different ringtone.

my ringtone is set to this random beeping that i made. and it has different tones for voicemail and text and stuff but none of them are musical. when this guy called, the phone rang with a specific, musical ringtone that i did not set it to. not only that but afterwards i checked and all the settings were normal.

so if my phone just spazzing or can you make other people's phones have a certain ringtone when you call? and if so, how do you do this?

Halloween? [Sep. 28th, 2003|11:25 pm]

I'm having a Halloween party, but I don't know what to really DO to keep people entertained...
Everyone is about 16-18 years old, so I can't think of anything that's not extremely childish.
I was trying to remember some weird things we did for a Halloween party we had a long time ago, but I can't really think of anything besides the traditional bobbing for apples...

Even if they are kinda dorky, they can sometimes be fun so any suggestions are appreciated :)

Thanks.
