What Would You Do?

What would you do in this situation:

Your Mom suffers from an incurable disease. It isn't deadly, but it causes her a good bit of pain, and can make her sick from time to time. On occasion (say 1-2 times a year) she needs some time in the hospital in order to re-adjust her meds and get nutrition and recover from bad bouts, etc.

Your career is at a standstill in your town and it would be better for you to move away. Also, your partner, whom you plan on marrying, hates where the two of you are and wants to continue his education in another state.

You have a sister that is staying in your town and is only a 10 minute drive from your mom, but she isn't always reliable.

Do you stay and risk a dead-end career and the loss of your future spouse, or do you move away and risk not being there if your mother needs you?

what to do, what to do

My parents are coming to visit me over Easter weekend, Thursday through Monday to be exact. I have no idea what to do with them while they're here. They come here once a year just to visit me and that leaves me with this unspoken responsibility to keep them entertained during their stay. I can't just let them hang out in their hotel room the whole time and they're not ones to do what I usually do in my free time with my friends: go to shows, stay home and watch movies and play video games.

I've already checked into sports games, plays, concerts, etc, and NOTHING.
Any suggestions on how I can entertain my folks over an extended weekend?

i'm very sure this has been asked before, but since i don't know and i won't check:

If a tree falls over and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

My view: no.

referring to the tree falling question

oh by the way, sorry i should have included this, but this is assuming that no humans or animals are around to hear the sound. and that humans and animals dont exist at all, i guess, because we are excluding the argument that any sound, no matter how far away is heard, it's just so low that we never realize it. ok? GO.

I love hockey, but I don't know what any of the lingo means. For example, hat trick, among others. Anyone out there want to enlighten me?
