Smog Warning [Aug. 15th, 2002|05:44 am]
The Question Club

[mood |pessimisticpessimistic]

How is it that even when this week large parts of the eastern side of North America are covered in smog (let alone what is going on in Asia), that some people can still sit there and figure that doing something to improve the environment isn't important?

I mean really, even somebody as moronic as Dubya can't possibly be this short sighted. Can they?

Earlier this week, I was convinced by a few of my co-workers to join the engineering department's football pool. The concept is relatively simple: pick the winners for each of the games every week of the football season. The person with the most right every week wins a small prize, to the tune of five or ten dollars. The people who have been the most accurate for the duration of the season win the remainder of the pot. The newspaper where my parents live used to do something similar, and I used to play occasionally. I was pretty good, and even won once.

The problem: I have not watched football regularily since 1999, when Green Bay got their collective arse kicked by Denver in the Super Bowl. My father's reaction to that game amused me to no end. I have no idea what teams are good any more. So, if anybody knows anything about NFL football, I'd be much obliged for some pointers.

Okay.. fine, that wasn't in the form of a question. Does anybody know anything about NFL football? If so, could you please bestow upon me your infinite wisdom.
