I walked in from picking up a pizza for supper. I was starving so I took a wedge of Crazy Bread and popped it in my mouth. I was chewing it and making a beeline for my room so I could get into my PJs and eat. My mother was watching TV and asks, "Where's your father?" He had driven me and he dropped me off so he could park while I put the food in the kitchen. Since I had a mouth full, I just answered, "He's parking," in a muffled voice. I thought she'd take the hint that my mouth was full and let me go, but then she asks, "Did you take the van?"
At that point, I really lost my cool since I was still trying to chew and swallow that piece of bread. I thought she's take a hint with my full mouth. So in a fit of frustration, I snapped back (mouth full), "Yes, we took the van!" Mom was a little hurt and asked why I snapped, and I responded, "My mouth's full, I'm trying to swallow this, and you keep asking me questions!"
Did I fly off the handle too easily?
